So, for various reasons I only got to seeing the latest Points of Interest last night, where the question came up of whether charr have been in the Mists before came up. Apart from, y’know, fractals, PvP, and so on.

The answer – depending on what you define as the Mists – is Yes!

It’s unclear whether they were present as an afterlife (a short one for most, being promptly devoured by demons) or whether they came in through a portal, but a number of charr found themselves in the Realm of Torment in Nightfall, and these charr probably represent the first cases of charr as allies. One is a member of the Oddbodies, who had lead a warband of charr into the Realm of Torment only to see the rest of his warband devoured. The other is Scorch Emberspire, which goes on a pilgrimage to the Titans and who, on discovering that the charr were merely pawns, enlists the player to help get revenge on them.
