I was just taking a look at some legendaries, when Meteorlogicus caught my eye. Is there anything to be gleaned from the planet display?

My apologies if this has been visited previously.

I didn’t see the light until I was already a man. By then, it was nothing to me but blinding!

Probably just as much as could be gained by the plaza in front of the palace in Divinity’s Reach. It just basically shows moon, sun, and a few other planets, though at the moment ArenaNet isn’t going too into depth with the astrology of the Guild Wars Universe, although I do admit it would be veeeeeeeeery cool for there to be a standard star-chart for the world, as opposed to just sky graphics that are used throughout the world.

Well, from the looks of things based off the planetary model on the weapon, there are 3 planets in Tyria’s solar system (Tyria looks to be the closest to the sun) and each planet has 2 moons. There is also a 4th celestial body that I can’t decide whether it’s a planet or some huge asteroid, as it isn’t orbiting either of the planets, is much bigger than the moons, and has an irregular shape.
Also, it looks strange, but it appears as though the weapon is designed so that everything orbits Tyria, as if it were the center of the solar system, not the sun. I haven’ seen the weapon in-game myself, nor do I know if it actually has an animation, but that’s what it looks like from the picture given.

The globe itself was brought up as a question once, but no images were attached so few could say. Looking at that, and comparing to this, I don’t see much similarity, but I’d need to see more than one angle to be certain.

@Rolin: Given the odd shape, I wouldn’t take that structure to be very accurate as a solar system model. The orrery in Divinity’s Reach is more likely to be accurate than that.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

The name ‘Meteorlogicus’ would seem to refer more to the weather as experienced on Tyria than to astronomy, and finding an astronomical point of reference is tough given that the shaft looks to me like it portrays clouds over the planet. What does that make the other globes? Maybe moons, maybe other planets which are actually a lot further out than they seem here… but I agree with Konig, it’s hard to gleen much when the shape seems pretty stylized.
