So with the upcoming Expansion it, I wondered if any classes (warrior, guard, necromancers, elementist, etc) fought each other over ideals. That is to say was their ever in time in lore where classes conflicted. example legions of Guardians fighting necros., I mean large scale battles or small conflicts.

Cause it Occured to me with the Dragonhunter lore, their is nothing really lore specific about them so Im trying to ponder/speculate how they would interact with other classes.
For Example A dragonhunter not trusting necromancers at first glance because they believe them to in leauge with Zhiatan. Zeal to the point of paranoid or sociopathicness.
or becoming so zealed that they start persicuting factions like the slyvari in thier relationship to Mordremoth and essentially toture the sylvari in a (benign attempt) to gather info on the dragon.

Would they be more hostile towards druids because of their nature magic or revanants and their ability to call on spirits.

As its pointed out every time necromancy is ever brought up here.

Necromancy has been a thing since well before the elder dragons were known about to the majority of races.

Shamans of Raven use it. Humans have used it ever since Grenth usurped Dhum.

It’s not looked at in any form of an evil way. It can be used for evil (using it on previously living sentient beings) as stated in the story minions were never alive to begin with.

You do have baddies like Palawa Joko, but it’s well established that he hates zhaitan, as his minions fought zhaitans corrupted at the edge of the crystal desert.

As for other classes, not really anything that’s in the lore….guardians weren’t a thing until recently (there were monks and paragons). Maybe engineer and elementalist would be…in opposition but not in a violent way

As for racial stuff. Also been established well in lore. The asura have a superiority complex, humans and chart largely distrust each other in certain areas, as of right now the charr (at least a few) are extremely weary of sylvari. But that has nothing to do with the elite specializations, however.

There was some profession-based rivalry in GW1’s lore, such as between mesmers and elementalists or between necromancers and monks, or mesmers and necromancers, but this rivalry never really went into full blown conflicts like the exampled “A legion of guardians fighting necros” – but more of arguments between individuals.

And this rivalry wasn’t universal either, but more of “common amongst the groups”.

It would be nice if Anet brought some of this out. But it wouldn’t ever turn into anything more than arguments about how to go about things, I’d imagine. Certainly not full blown wars.
