(Ended up deleting original post because I forgot to disable the interface on the screenshots, leaving a bunch of names on the screen. Apologies to the person that responded before)

In this new map we get a pretty decent amount of lore on races not previously explored very much. Which is great. But one race that wasn’t outright mentioned as much, but still has a commanding presence is the Jotun. Particularly their structures dotting the landscape.
They’re huge rock edifices fittingly crafted by the giant Jotun, from what I understand, and they all have the same thing carved onto them. I suspect it’s a mechanic “copy/paste” thing and not a lore based obsession over a single picture, but that’s not the point of this post. The point is to ask if there is any knowledge on Jotun written language or symbolism. We know they’re really into astronomy, and that is probably reflected in the carvings in the frontier, but aside from that, do we have any kind of knowledge on how to read their stuff?
Attached are screenshots I took (correctly this time) of three different rock surfaces with their copy/pasted carvings on them. One on the overlook accessible via Black Lion Chest drop, the other two are the entrance stones to the hot springs. Pretty much circles in and around other circles, ala Eternal Alchemy diagram fashion and one particular circle near the bottom with what appears to be a chiken or raptor head in it. Any ideas on it?

“Comprehensive Study of Jotun Language” = 4 paragraphs. Checks out. Sorry that is no dig at you, more at the small amount of material we have to work with. :P

Anyway, as you said yourself the Jotun were astronomers. Maybe they also observed the celestials, that we know from Cantha. One of them was a rooster, which could explain the chicken head. Just a wild guess though.

You don’t win friends with salad! Sorry I just got caught up in the rhythm.

These things also remind me of depictions in chemistry.
Would be interesting for Asura i think.

Otherwise. Astronomy all the way.

This seems pretty plausible. I was looking around at other Jotun ruins (Leaning Grade PoI in Dredgehaunt Cliffs) and found another set of carved rocks. One rock had a more complete depiction of the same stuff I posted earlier, but another rock had a circle with a snake in it. (Top right circle in attached picture). There are pictures in all of the circles, I think, but they’re really hard to see.
Snakes are part of the celestial thing too.
