Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

There’s a LOT of New Krytan writing seen in the new consortium workplace in Canal Ward/Commodore’s Quarter (the structure is borderline of the two areas it seems).
Big sign
The Consortium
“Your satisfaction is our reward”
Behind the big sign
The consortium is a premier omnichannel provider of iconic brands, planning solutions, and customer-centric services.
At each workplace
The benefits of standing all day:
At some desks (bright yellow paper)
Privileged and confidential
Attention consortium employes. It’s that time of year again. Time to dust the old brains off and come up with a new company slogan. We’ve found that revenue spiked every time we change our appearance. So it’s time to bring out forward thinking innovative thought process to bear in this project. Be sure to leverage all your mental assets! The winner this year gets a very attractive warm beverage holder!
Whoever submits the worst entry will be encouraged to seek employment elsewhere.
Good luck and most importantly, have fun!
Unique letters per desk (slogans?)
(the last ones are all on the same desk with a bunch illegible ones crumbled on the floor and the person crying)
Fun fact: The ? is, unlike all other punctuation, different than ours.
Fun fact 2: This is likely a hint to a future Southsun Cove story, as during the Secret of Southsun, we had a ‘new slogan’ from the Consortium (“Wish you were here” – it was on an out-of-game image of a poster for the Consortium’s resorts on Southsun), and many of these slogans seem to hint to karka, sand, beaches, etc. – aka Southsun.

So, Southsun Cove goes marble as well?
Makes sense, since LA seems to be completly consortium designed.
Sell outs.
Did you find the explanation for the royal banners while Lion’s Arch was not under Krytan domination?

Marble? As far as I can tell the material, that was used to construct Lions Arch has been concrete. Both contain CaCO3, (Concrete on the surface, marble is usually a form of limestone.) but concrete is infinitely cheaper.
Evon Gnashblade even claims to have supplied the construction materials and that, without him the whole place would still be in ruins.
Did you find the explanation for the royal banners while Lion’s Arch was not under Krytan domination?
While Lions Arch is an independent city state, the territory may still be considered part of Kryta. This is similar to the republic of Genoa and other italian city states, that were formally independent, but belonged to the territory of Italy.
Currently, the kingdom of Kryta doesn’t rule over all the territory, that can be considered krytan, and in case of the duchy of Ebonhawke maintains control over land, that is not territorial Kryta.
This is likely a hint to a future Southsun Cove story…
Only time will tell on that, but while you’re hanging around the Consortium’s new HQ in LA, listen for a few small tidbits in the office gossip between employees hinting at their mysterious (and remote) leadership.
Speaking of Southsun, there’s been a slight update in the status quo there, between SubdirectorNoll and the new island Sheriff.

Speaking of Noll, an NPC made an offhand comment about a director named “Boll”. Is this an inside joke of the Consortium or something?

Is it safe to assume that we will someday see more of this leadership and/or the Consortium’s misguided doings?

DIdn’t know of the Southsun stuff, but I had heard that dialogue while translating.

Boll seems to be the name of the company’s leader, with at least two directors underneath him.

My bets are: Canach or Anise. Probabbly Anise, but i dont discard canach still working in consortium as a leader after a promotion… :P

Took a peak.
Noticed Deputy Turma’s been promoted to Sheriff Turma. But yeah, to me all these hints and nods to karka points to a return to Southsun.
But then there’s that Trikey Chest added to the skritt cave… which makes me hope that there’s progress on making Season 1 permanent content… Hmmm, wonder if there’s new content near other Season 1 locations.
Glad you removed the duplicate Turma (for a while, she was in both LA and Southsun).
However….
First two Evons, now two Nolls.
Dear gods, they’re multiplying!

My first thought was that the chest was a teaser (I have a guildmate who used to have keys that he threw away only a few months ago), but I like your theory much more.
#HYPE!
First two Evons, now two Nolls.
Dear gods, they’re multiplying!
How will they explain this one?!
They also say about the new chairman and ‘Lucky he didnt eat you’. What species is he…?
Speaking of Noll, an NPC made an offhand comment about a director named “Boll”. Is this an inside joke of the Consortium or something?
So the Consortium are going to make really bad movies now as part of a tax evasion scheme? Dear gods… they gonna make a movie out of the Super Adventure Box, aren’t they?
Southsun could some a bit more rework. A few vistas and hero challenges, better events, some unique currency for the rewards instead having to capture all 4 posts… a cycle of meta-events that brings back the cool consortium vs settlers events in some form…
First two Evons, now two Nolls.
Thanks, the superfluous Noll was unintended and I bugged it to fix.

Wait…If the superfuous Noll was unintended, and thus fixed, that would imply that the Evon doppleganger IS intended….
DUN DUN DUN……
The plot thickens….

Find the imposter “Evon” in Lion’s Arch right now, and I think you’ll find out why he borrowed his doppleganger’s name…
There’s something interesting about the symbols on the papers in the wastebasket of the crying man. Are they doing business with them or is it hints to their mysterious leadership? (The Consortium is an asura established corporation after all so I wouldn’t be surprised at either)
I didn’t see those Inquest symbols! But I think that’s likely just a reused asset.
Then again… the same crumpled paper is at Evon’s desk…
You can just make it out in this image someone else provided in the Evon Gnashblade Conspiracy thread.
So, Peter, is there any chance we might see an eventual continuation of that hair-raising subplot cliffhanger from Season 1 where the Consortium was very interested in the remains of the Tower of Nightmares (and was pestering quite a few NPCs about it in Kessex Hills)? It could become an interesting tie-in to Heart of Thorns as we now know ToN was connected to Mordremoth (who is the Elder Dragon of Plants and Mind, both of which fit the Tower of Nightmares and its effects quite well) as well as seemed to be a juvenile Pale Tree if the hints in-game are to be believed.
Not to mention there’s also Scarlet’s Rattle which has plagued many survivors from Scarlet’s miasma attack and which the Consortium could be just as interested in for all we know…
I do like the recent hints at Consortium leadership in NPC chatter; I could imagine one of them being charr based on that “lucky he didn’t eat you” comment, but who knows. I’ve wondered since the very beginning who the leaders are and why they wish to remain unseen. It’s just as intriguing why at least one of these leaders has decided to come out of the shadows now and go to LA. I look forward to seeing how this plot develops and if we’ll see more of the Consortium (and maybe the legacy of the Tower of Nightmares) in Heart of Thorns or beyond.
Y’know, with the minor change to Southsun Cove, it might be worth checking up on the other mentioned/hinted at locations.
The ecto-gambling skritt mentions a mentor back in Skrittsburg; we got the trikey chest that might hint to something in ToN. Might be worth hitting up these locations.
I LOVE all the lore associated with the Consortium. <3
Really interesting to read all this, it seems Southsun could get some new attention. I’m ready for my next ingame beach holiday.
The Consortium is located where? we will visit you someday premises? Who create?
The island of the pearl is he going to be improved finally, into a true resort?
Who heads the group of the Consortium? Get out there one day cross the?
Will you give them even more importance?
The Consortium currently renovating the ark of the lion, will they take the reins of the lion of the board?
Evon Grincelam is he going to accept that economic empowerment?
How is the Consortium came into the world?
The Zepplins seem increasingly be used by groups other than the pact, are difficult to obtain? how it spends the sale of this invention, used before by the asura Tixx, and the pact that seems to have invented? Does The Consortium plans to buy?
What is their relationship with Dexxa?
The Consortium will you it will be extended to other cities?
so many questions !!! I would love to see!

The Airships seem to have been finalized/made working by the Pact. After that they seem decently widespread. A Seraph mentions forces and airships heading toward Maguuma, but the way it’s phrased sounds like the Seraph personally have some Airships.
We know LA has a least a few, as you see some in the Aetherblade path. During battle of LA IIRC, there were three you could find in the areas around LA, then Ellen Kiel’s airship.
The Consortium currently renovating the ark of the lion, will they take the reins of the lion of the board?
Ark of the Lion?
Lion’s Arch is named “Arc de Léon” in French localization. This poster must be French and either translated the name literally, or used a translation tool to post in English.

Ah, fair enough. Threw me off for a bit. :P
I’m really glad to see someone has taken the effort to translate this. I made myself e-flashcards to memorize New Krytan around the time the game came out, then abandoned that as my obsession dimmed to mere love of the game lore. Thanks for the interesting read.
Next to the water bucket:
Due to prolonged water break conversations, management has reduced the number of ladles to one.
And another slip on the desk behind the banner:
Changing the world, one acquisition at a time
And banner hanging over the door at the back:
Mission Statement: We pledge to support our shareholders, vendors, customers, and employees as they endeavor to achieve prosperity and realize their dreams, all thanks to our wide array of products and services.

Sorry, I have difficulty with English. So I often use the translator when I can not find a sentence.
You have nothing to be sorry for. It was perfectly clear what you meant. The main things off were that English does not apply a gender to things that do not literally have gender (except in slang as a form of affection especially for vehicles/ships) and simple grammatical differences. What you were trying to say still was quite clear though.

Sorry. This conversation just reminded me of this:
Homer: Look kids! I just got my party invitations back from the printers.
Lisa: [reading the invitation] “Come to Homer’s BBBQ. The extra B is for BYOBB.”
Bart: What’s that extra B for?
Homer: It’s a typo.
:)

Subassessor Prongg is quite a piece of work, isn’t he? I originally envisioned an escort mission where he’d ask passing players to help get him to the tower debris so he could take samples on his own nefarious initiative, but ran out of time to set that up.
Not to mention there’s also Scarlet’s Rattle which has plagued many survivors from Scarlet’s miasma attack and which the Consortium could be just as interested in for all we know…
We haven’t seen any evidence that the Consortium has a weapons division, never mind a bio-weapons division, but who knows?

Thanks—the establishment of their now very public HQ in LA is the reason for appearances by certain of their leadership. We developed a backstory for their company that we may or may not ever get around to telling… I just thought it would be fun to hint at some of it.
Well, the consortium better watch it. It seems like they’re horning in on Evon Gnashblade’s territory, and he doesn’t seem to share real well.

That’s the opposite of what I want to hear! The Consortium’s presence in LA has only piqued my interest even further!
moar Consortium pls!
Consortium <3 <3 <3
They remind me of Team Rocket from Pokemon. They are silly yet nefarious at the same time! I love getting a glimpse into their organizational culture.
And besides, them being the foil to Evon & the BLTC is the only way to make the latter look positive by comparison!! haha
I do wonder why Evon would willingly allow the Consortium to be so involved in the rebuilding of LA, essentially extending their influence. Maybe he refused to offer his huge sum of wealth in order to spite Kiel?

According to NPCs in LA, Evon Gnashblade profited from the rebuilding.
Given the recent gain Evon’s made while the Consortium’s gained prosperity with the LA changes makes me think that Evon’s got influence in the Consortium – would explain how he was able to turn off the asura gate from the wrong side during Escape from LA. Consortium is said to be an asura corporation – so if Evon’s in good with the Consortium’s lead (supposedly this Boll), then it would explain a lot of things.
For the question of why the Consortium would try to rival and replace the Black Lion (so they claim): a fraud. The Consortium would be there to create a fake rivalry that would drive the employees to better themselves and their products on both sides. All the while, the profits go to the same pocket(s).
Since he’s not in the city’s council, it wasn’t up to Evon to sign off on the Consortium bid for the surveying and rebuilding effort, though presumably he went along with it to get himself new office and vault space in the bargain (not to mention supplying the building materials). Presumably Evon had a lot of solicited and unsolicited input as a major pillar of the city’s business community.
I don’t think there’s any love lost between Evon and the BLTC’s upstart rival.
Noticed Consortium office employees are all crying and or stressing out. Does not seem like a great job to be in lol.
Also notice just how jaded Evon is, poor dude. I mean he is a cut throat businessman but on other hand he has done some good things. I think he’s just misunderstood. Now he stumps around grumbling to himself…
Perhaps an Evon appreciation day is in order? He’s seems rather….depressed and needs cheering up imo.
Yeah, that’s some interesting speculation, Konig!

Yeah, Evon definitely got some great new working space with the new LA set up, so I’m not feeling bad for him at all. I mean, have you seen the black weapon specialists vault?! #breathtaking If anything, Ellen Kiel seems to have forced a mutually beneficial treaty between BLTC and the Consortium.
It’ll be interesting to see how things develop with both companies gaining a lot from the rebuilding of LA.
