Dagdar & Eladus
Yes. You’re going to find those in this game, including two prominent lesbian relationships among the main NPC cast. I happen to enjoy that inclusivity, but I suppose it’s not for everyone.
I fail to see how a gay romance is a copy/paste from another game just for being a gay romance…
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I dont remember seeing any of such stories before Rift started that. (and I’m lore freak, so correct me if I’m wrong and name a game where you saw that)
For some reason people like that, people like anything that TV says it’s cool so… I guess Anet followed the example.
Bad example imho.
Do you really think this is a modern invention? Because that is clearly not the case.
Stop being intolerant OP, I don’t see how this affects you negatively at all, nor does it harm the GW2 experience to have a bit of LGBT representation.
i dont give a kitten about it. It doesn’t affect me at all, unnatural stays unnatural no matter how much they tried to put it in “most natural beings” in game Sylwari.
Would be funny to see gay Chars… that’d be a sight…
There is nothing unnatural about gay relationships. Also it is found in sylvari, asura, and human races up to date. Gay relationships was also not ‘popularized’ with Rift. A quick google search gave a long list of characters WAY before Rift. And lastly, this doesn’t belong in the lore forums.
Also, sylvari technically have no sex at all, so it’s a bit problematic for them to be in either a homosexual or a heterosexual relationship.
Speaking of which, it is also impossible for them to have children, which makes absolutely all kinds of romantic involvement equally “unnatural,” if that’s how you prefer to categorize love with no intent of reproduction.

Sylvari do have sex, they just can’t have babies. They have sex and fall in love and the rest of the schmoozing.

Having a sex (of course I’m talking about physiological characteristics, not a sexual intercourse – it may get slightly confusing, considering that I don’t know English well enough) means having gametes. If sylvari had them, they would be able to reproduce. However, they do not, and thus they are asexual creatures. Their masculine or feminine appearance is just that – appearance, a way to mimic human physiology (and, to a certain degree, human psychology). It may not prevent them from falling in love, as they are able to experience many emotions normally developed through evolution, but it doesn’t make them men or women.
Which is a good thing, by the way.
In OP’s world, only one same-sex relationship is possible in any game ever. Any successive same-sex relationships are clearly identical. Because, you know, every opposite-sex relationship in games is a copy of the first one that happened, right?
Except, oh, wait, they’d never say that about opposite-sex relationships. :|a
And Hashar, sylvari were confirmed to have the “fun parts” by the devs. Not reproducing doesn’t mean they can’t have bits, it just means nothing comes of it. They reflect humans externally, right down to having certain protrusions and certain holes. The insides, however, are entirely different.
(Also, as a note, what bits one has has nothing to do with whether one is a man or a woman. Male or female, yes. Man or woman (or any other gender!), no.)

Fun parts != gametes, though.
Not trying to argue (well, I guess to a certain degree I am trying to argue), just explaining my point of view. :/
