Disconnection between online / in-game living stories?
I really hope English is not your first language as your grammar is atrocious. If it is a second language though, completely understandable.
As to the point of the topic. I agree that a 2 week schedule is a little quick, I wouldn’t mind once a month for living story, and in between a balance fix. I think that would be ideal.
As for the story on the website vs. in game, I agree that it would be nice in game. Anet even stated they were working on it in these very forums, so just be patient. That said, saying that “barely anyone take care of it…” if you meant to say that barely anybody cares then that is a rather bold statement and one I don’t think you’re qualified to make. We live in a multi-media society so I don’t think there is a problem linking their blog post to the game. Again, that isn’t to say I wouldn’t rather it be in game, but it is to say I don’t mind so much that it isn’t.
It’s not temporary, it’s permanent. Geez

Well, you have to look at the bigger picture: Living Story sucks. Poor writing is only one of many aspects of that suckiness.

Fact is it would take a lot more time and resources to tell it all inside the game and most people wouldn’t care for it at all anyways. It’s lore and most people ignore it.
I feel that the 2 weeks they give us is plenty of time to do most of what you need to do to get whatever the flavour of the 2 week period item is and enjoy the content. However I don’t feel that having items in game with a limited time to get them is a very good system at all. It only creates jealousy etc amongst players and adds to that thought process of “I have to play this game THEN or I will miss out FOREVER”.
But some people like that and like to feel “more specialer” (I know it’s not a word but I think it suits the type of people I am describing here :P) than others lol.

There is a difference between insult (a subjective statement made for the purpose of causing harm) and a statement of fact. It is fact that the grammar is terrible and as a result makes the post difficult to read. If English is not a second language there is no excuse.
That said, if it was construed as an insult, then my apologies. If the simple fact that somebody pointed out the truth hurt though, perhaps that will inspire to get better in the future. Anyway, take it or leave it as you will.
Back on topic, I do look forward to when more ingame backstory is created, but hope they don’t stop with the online blog to add to it more.
I have been level 80 for a year, and still have not finished my personal story, because it is so horrid to watch bad voice over’s and terrible story line, i guess swotor ruined me in that department, to bad the rest of that game sucks.

Conversational/txt English is perfect for forums like these. That argument is completely off-topic. Moving back on to the topic.
I personally despise the blog content. Some players may be unaware of the blog, or may not be bothered to read it, and would therefore miss out on some important lore content. This is especially detrimental to enticing players into enjoying the lore.
I appreciate the idea of proving the lore on two different mediums as an interesting story-telling mechanic – the problem is that it just really doesn’t work in practice. I had an earful from a guildie earlier today about this exact issue (he happens to be a complete lore nut).
Epistemic.8013: Guys this is bullkitten a sentient plant creature is hitting these
wooden doors with fireballs and it’s working.
I think, personally, that there is a level where the two source lore works. The problem is that important information which is vital to the story is being missed out on because of this current system. Back with the origins of Braham and Rox stories, these were great. They gave more background on the characters, but the background wasn’t necessary in order to understand their characters within the content itself. They had plenty other conversations between them/you/others in order for you to understand them throughout the story. The biggest irk that came out on this forum was the background of Scarlet which appeared on the website but never showed up in the game. I personally believe that if they wished to flesh out Scarlet better that instead of just placing an article on a website they should have created a living story arc out of finding and talking with people who had been involved with her. This would have given players at all levels of the story a background into her importance in the events going on.
A story arc of some kind is probably the best solution to getting exposition in game. I think someone asked why these short stories aren’t in-game, and Anet has said that it’s because they have no way of implementing it. Text in this game is mainly just a few sentences, unless they can make it like the PS tab on the Hero panel where it tells a few paragraphs. Also, people don’t really read in-game (majority just skip skip, or read once then ignore every other time).

I could barely understand anything that Scoobaniec.9561 said due to the fact that his skills with the English language are so atrocious. If you managed to follow it, all the more power to you. But some people prefer to at least be able to read legible (even if it isn’t grammatically correct) english. What Scoobaniec wrote came across as being written by someone who is barely literate, as such not really worth my time to consider.

I am sorry but NO. Conversational Text as you call it, or LEET (1337) speak as most people refer to it is not proper English and is as such not permissible in any format where you have access to a fully functional keyboard with the entire Qwerty layout or a similar layout. Heck it isn’t even really passable on modern day Smart Phones any more due to the fully functional keyboards that exist on those phones now. So really there is no excuse for writing in such a manner unless you are suffering from actually being barely literate yourself or you are not a native English speaker. Both of which are valid explanations for not having a firm grasp on the English language and proper spelling and grammar. Anything else is simply being lazy.

At least it turned out that the preview story for Twilight Assault was nothing more than just a preview story. No harm was done in terms of the in game story, lore, or anything else.
