I realise they dream. However is there a post pod state where they are immobilized with eyes closed etc?

Yep. Fourth dialogue down on this page is the first example I can think of. Last one too, for that matter.

If they have dreams, and if they have nightmares, which there are dozens of dialogues throughout The Grove alone mentioning such, they must sleep… so yes.

Also they have hammocks for beds. While there are certainly many other things to do in a bed than sleep, the most obvious of those is rather trickier to accomplish in a hammock … >.> Thus suggesting the hammocks are for sleep

Sylavri, i dont know. But sylvari sleep. Whether they sleep like other races i dont know. It could be a comatose rest, or it could be resting processing. I havent come across any sylvari that mentioned dreams. Other than the dream they had at birth, that is

There’s quite a few around the grove. One sylvari even mentions having bad dreams ever since she escaped imprisonment from the Nightmare Court. Indicating not only do sylvari sleep and dream, but that they can suffer from PTSD.

If so is there connection to the Dream enhanced during that period?

They sleep. Normal sleep. Whatever you want to call that.

No, there doesn’t seem to be any connection between the Dream and dreaming, based on the dialogue there is throughout the Grove.
