Does Kormir intervene in Tyria?
She wasn’t a god at the time of the Exodus- but she did leave the world during Nightfall, and as far as we know she never came back. If anything, we’ve reason to believe she’s been less active than the other gods. Those five used to communicate with Tyria through avatars, but that all stopped around the time Kormir became a god.
Thank you! I wasn’t a big player of GW1, so I might do some reading on Nightfall.
technically she didn’t leave the world when she became a god, since she became a god in the realm of torment, in the mists. it wasn’t in our world, tyria
Never said she did. She left during Nightfall, which was before she supplanted Abaddon. :P
In fact, if anything, it seems that Kormir’s ascension might have been their trigger to go silent. Abaddon was their ‘unfinished business’ on Tyria – once Abaddon was brought down by human heroes, they decided that humans could stand on their own.
At least, that’s what we were being told by the devs until Balthazar showed up apparently not caring that his actions could kill every human on the planet…
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
Balthazar isn’t a god anymore, so he’s irrelevant when speaking about the true gods and their actions.
Yes and no. Unless losing his godhood completely replaced his personality, the things he does and does not care about are at least possibly the same as when he was a god, and his current blatant disregard for human lives runs counter to the explanation we’ve been given in the past for the gods’ withdrawal (granted, there are sound theories that reconcile the contradiction, but this isn’t the thread for them).
didn’t she stay in the realm of torment to “clean up Abaddon’s mess”?

losing his godhood did change his personality. he lost his honour. he is no longer a god, so when you talk about the human gods, you’re not talking about balthazar anymore, same as with dhuum or abaddon. gods decided to leave tyria and they did. balthazar isn’t one of them, so he doesn’t represent them. simple as that.
we dont know what exactly happened, but we do know the facts as they stand right now. additionally, tying him to lyssa isn’t really smart – she loved tyrians and didn’t want to return to Arah and live with the others, while Balthazar was able to kill for losing a game/bet. lyssa wouldn’t give him the mirror, he probably stole it.

People are being way too specific about Balthazar losing his godhood. All we know is that he was weakened. “They dimmed my light” is not very specific. Though it does seem likely that he lost his godhood, it might well be that the other gods only restrained him in some way, or that he was weakened by some other force. So please, guys, stop pretending that what you’re talking about is some sort of fact. For as long as there is no explicit confirmation, at least.
As for Kormir – since it does seem plausible that GW2’s next expansion will take us to Elona, we might well see her again. Perhaps because of Balthazar.
