There was not an active Dwarf thread so I felt the need to make a new one!

Dwarfs have beards! beards are sexy! Ogden for President!

Discuss!

But on a more serious note we know that with the exception of Ogden the sexy, supposedly all the remaining dwarfs on Tyria are either dead or fighting the Destroyers.

The question is were / are there dwarfs outside of Tyria? Elona? Cantha?

We know they went to fight the elder dragons during the last awakening, and we know not all of the elder dragons are currently on the Tyrian sub continent.

We also know that Dwarfs are not all dedicated to the same cause, cultural rifts did form in the society, the Stone summit dwarfs being the key example.

So what are the chances of dwarf colonies outside of Tyria?

Chances for more dwarves to be alive? I say good… but not sure about Elona or Cantha, there weren’t any dwarves there before.

Pretty sure that the stone summit are dead.

Pretty sure that all the dwarves that fought the great destoyer are dead (except for Odgen)

Most curious, I am, for why odgen decide to turn to stone… he didn’t want to in GWEN.

Cancer is also a Zodiac sign.

From what Ree Soesbee has said there are no more living normal dwarves. The ritual of the great dwarf was a trigger for the end of the dwarves. In the end all dwarves undertook the ritual in one sense or another, even the stone summit. This was described as an urge or need caused by the magic. Once they undertook the ritual they became part of the hive mind of the dwarven nation which seemed to turn them to an aggressive force against the Elder Dragons, specifically Primordius. More than likely, other than Ogden, all stone dwarves are now in the depths of Tyria fighting off the destroyers with all their strength.

Near the end of this article they talk about the dwarves all partaking in the ritual.

All Dwarves were forced to undergo the rite of the Great Dwarf, even Stone Summit and Ogden
I haven’t really encountered Ogden outside of Arah Explorable, but he doesn’t seem changed in mind, so it’s possible other dwarves aren’t crazed fighting the destroyers, and are hiding somewhere

Or perhaps Ogden underwent the ritual, but was able to cast some sort of enchantment, allowing him to keep his mind unchanged, but also allowing him to last through the years and eventually help the races against the greater threat of the Elder dragons.

False. After Eye of the North, the Stone Summit disbanded and rejoined Deldrimor (go to Dredgehaunt Cliffs – specifically the Granite Citadel). When Primordus awoke, all remaining dwarves underwent the Rite of the Great Dwarf (turning to stone) and went into the depths.

While there are Deldrimor artifacts in the Jade Sea of Cantha, there’s no indication of dwarves outside continental Tyria. Furthermore, it’s heavily implied that the calling to undergo the Rite of the Great Dwarf (it was a literal calling where dwarves felt compelled to undergo the rite) was racial – meaning all dwarves did such, not just Deldrimor dwarves.

So it’s extremely unlikely we’ll see un-stoned dwarves. It’s also unlikely, imo, for there to be dwarves outside Tyria. But not impossible.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Any evidence of dwarves existing outside of Tyria was found within areas where there had been no dwarves for centuries or more.
