Dwarven Legacy?
Character: -Proudwulf- Human- Guardian
I believe I remember seeing somewhere pre-release that the dredge are indeed where they are because they got to springboard off dwarven advancements, but I don’t remember the source.
In any event, I believe the only other direct cultural contribution you see is the case of Beigarth, the most famous of norn smiths, turning to Deldrimor steel to create a truly superior weapon, as it is a material that has yet to be surpassed, or even replicated- well, until the ascended weapon update, anyway.
The true legacy of the dwarves, imo, is not what they left behind for the modern races to assimilate, but that those modern races aren’t yet hip-deep in destroyers.
Are the dredge so technologically advanced because of the influence from the dwarves?
The fact that a lot of dredge tech is sound based and no dwarf tech is seems to indicate they are capable of innovation and technological prowess by themselves. If anything, I would say the dwarf set them back by enslaving them.
Dredge tech is aesthetically based off of the Stone Summit. Beyond that, dunno.
They don’t seem to have influenced the asura at all though.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I thought the advancements made by the dwarves in armorsmithing and blacksmithing became the building foundation of which all races built armor?
No, the dwarven means of refining metals had been lost to time. Though Beigarth said he was on a lead.to a breakthrough on deldrimor steel – which one could argue recently occurred with the Ascended crafting.
Dwarven blackpowder was something the charr used as a stepping stone for their guns though.

I sense the backdrop for Legendary Armours!

Oh god if they implement Legendary armour too I will cry. I already am nowhere near close to (ever) getting a Legendary weapon, let alone anything else….
… Despite it being cool if it had a tie to the Dwarves. >.>
The Archivist’s Sanctum [Lore] – Just Us Grown-Ups [JUGS]
They have nothing to do with the Asura, I can tell you that much.

They probably will add in Legendary armor, but first we’re getting more legendary weapons and legendary…
TRINKETS!
Yup, the thing which gives no visuals whatsoever will be given legendary versions the primary purpose of which is unique visuals. 8D (well, now also the versitile stats)
They’ll be tied not to the dwarves but to … PONIES!
Yup, all Legendaries from hence forth will be Dreamers.

Actually, now that I think about, the asuran and dwarven civilizations had to have interacted at some point in their history. The Heart of the Shiverpeaks, where the dwarves kept their most sacred relic, is only accessible by asura gate iirc.
Mechanically, yeah it’s only accessible via asura gates… well, I’m not entirely sure about the way from Bogroot Growths though… that’d be close enough to be via direct tunnels at least. But lorewise, I’d be surprised if the dwarves didn’t have a direct route – if Eye of the North kept to the original concept of being Prophecies-only expansion (rather than “any campaign expansion”), then we may have gotten an entrance from the Southern Shiverpeaks instead of the Battledepths.
But yeah, we know they knew of each other for sometime underground. How long – unknown. The level of interaction – unknown.

This doesn’t mean they interacted too long ago necessarily. I mean we know that the dwarves and asura knew about each other by EotN, but for the most part the Heart of the Shiverpeaks was sealed up. The asura gate there could have come in long after the dwarves left and the asura were just exploring the depths of Tyria.
