So I’ve read both Ghosts of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny which were both wonderful books and helped me understand the lore of Tyria to the current date. I have a series of questions which are: Does Kralkattorik have a dragon champion like the other Elder Dragon’s, is The Shatterer his champion or was Glint supposed to be his champion, do the Elder Dragon’s have multiple champion’s?

Another question I have is: Is there another Elder Dragon? I’ve read the GW2 Wikia and it’s mentioned a Deep Sea Dragon I’m just curious if this is actually true or not. Although I don’t mind if it terrorizes the krait/quaggan… I hate them.

I can’t wait until we get to fight the other Elder Dragons. I’m hoping the next dragon we get to fight is Jormag, or at least Primordus. Kralkattorik would be too soon, at least for me.

Sincerely

Glint was Kralkattorik’s champion responsable for guarding him while he slept. The Shatterer is a champion of his. I actually suspect that the ED’s can have more than one champion. It really comes down to what defines a champion. Zhaitan seemed to have several agents that acted on his behalf, both dragonsized and mortal sized.

I suspect that making champions requires alot of resources to make so the number of champions an ED makes would be restricted by the cost.

There appear from info in game to have been 6 EDs last cycle. Weither all 6 made it to this cycle is unknown. We do know that the Deep Sea Dragon exists and there are hints about it in game. The 6th dragon however is not known if it is indeed around.

Yeah every Elder dragon has a champion and Glint was Kralkatorrik’s. Her ability to read minds was from him. Iirc she felt sorry for the people or something and left Kralkatorrik ( someone correct me if i’m wrong ). In any case, she was his champion in the past and then wanted to kill him ( 2nd book ).

The deep sea dragon is the 5th dragon ( and is called “Bubbles” :P ) but his real name is still not known.

But it is believed there are a total of 6 Elder dragons (the 6th one being mentioned by the Jotun as the “6th World Devourer” ) but it’s still not ceratin if he exists or not. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Elder Dragons have multiple champions (you can see several, about a dozen total, in the skies over each area of Orr fighting airships), though we only see one champion for Kralkatorrik, Primordus, and Jormag more or less in GW2 atm. The Shatterer and Glint are/were both champions.

@Lutinz: Wrong, Glint was Kralkatorrik’s champion before he went to sleep – while Edge of Destiny did make it sound like her purpose was to guard him while he slept, it never stated that and it’s stated in the Arah explorable dungeon that she betrayed him before he went to sleep – she’s the reason why other races survived. Her breaking from Kralkatorrik was a combination of a powerful spell the forgotten used to give her free will along with her mind-reading abilities giving her sympathy for the other races.

And you’re right that it’s about how much effort is put into making them – though for Zhaitan at least it deals with how much corrupted magic is put back into the body (Zhaitan, and possibly other ED, corrupt via taking magic from creatures/objects, corrupting it, then putting it back in – and the more put back in, the more intelligent and stronger it is – at least this is an explanation given prior to the invasion of Orr which is more or less followed up on in agreement though there’s no explanation for why there are draconic minions given as far as I know).

@alfista: technically, it should be “a total of 6 known Elder Dragons” – nothing really says there can’t be a seventh. It’s just that the jotun (and likely dwarves, forgotten, mursaat, and seer as well) only knew of six.

I’d link to other relevant pages, but a lot of lore on GW2W is out of date, especially on the ED, as no one’s yet updated them.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
