All lore tell us that Elder Dragons are a magical force of tryrian nature. That they are eternal. Yet Zhaitan was killed in end game. So how come aforementioned lore did not match up to game play reality.

I got around this by comparing Elder Dragons as the equal of human gods. For instance, when Abbadon was killed, his will was extinguished and he was gone forever. However, he did leave behind a unique godly powers and aspects. All of which Kormir inherited and made her own.

This same analogous process I think is what happened to Zhaitan. When Zhaitan died his will and his uniqueness ceased to be but the elder dragon powers and aspects would be inherited by a successor. This process would then reconcile elder dragon lore with actual game play.

Edit: if I were to extenuate from the above, a human inherited a human god’s power and became a god herself, then only a dragon kind can inherit a dragon god’s power and become a dragon god or elder dragon.

Elder dragon power is inverse proportional to tyria magic. This is a recycling process switching back and forth between elder dragon power and tyria magic. When elder dragon power is at maximum then tyrian magic is at minimum. When elder dragon power is at minimum then tyrian magic is at maximum.

Creation of the Bloodstones can and has disrupted this recycling process when large portion of tyria’s magic was locked/sealed away in the bloodstones. This can only mean the elder dragons are weaker than they were before bloodstones creation. Could the introduction of the human gods in to Tyria rebalance over all magic in Tyria. The loss of magic locked away in the bloodstones being made up by human gods’ power.

By leaving Tyria could the human gods be trying to deprived the elder dragons from a new source of magic and thus keeping the elder dragon weak. This would make the job for the human fighting the elder dragons easier.
