NOTE: this is technically from the in-universe/in character perspective, no real hate here. Also my knowledge on the white mantle is limited, so I’m actually asking people to enlighten me if im missing any details

I can see why people voted for Ellen Kiel. In the past weeks Evon has made some really questionable decisions. First he sells a weapon set with no refund…..and now he promotes the white mantle? why? as far as I can tell the white mantle have caused nothing but trouble and merchandising them seems like a terrible idea for a business man…charr. Also why would we want to infiltrate the white mantle (that’ the outfit’s selling tag) when we storm their fortress and defeat their bandits?

I’m not entirely sure if Gnashblade’s in-character promotion of that outfit should be taken as official lore here. Obviously this always serves to add some flavor to new shop items, but is it really much more than that? I doubt it. Evon Gnashblade would propably be in serious trouble with the Krytan government for a statement such as this.

Well, Evon is working for everyone.

No wonder he has enemy weapons long time, before we even encounter them.

Bet he and Mordy had a sweet deal on these ley line weapons.

Unfortunatly the white mantle is way too racist (but still need some funding), so they only offered clothes to him (which don’t fit every race well of course. Every clipping is by design, you know).

Even Evon and his golden tounge isn’t able to please everyone.

Y’know, much as I’m suspicious of Evon on general principles, this could be a case of Evon being sneaky in an entirely different way – insinuating that the White Mantle has infiltrated the Ministry without out and saying it.

“The outfits are popular among Krytan nobility, but you didn’t hear about it from me” translates to “members of the Krytan nobility are wearing White Mantle gear, but they don’t want people to know about it” and in turn to “members of the Krytan nobility are secretly White Mantle”

Be interesting to see if the Order of Whispers get involved soon… and if Demmi plays a role.
