SPOILERS

So i just started exploring LA and went into the first story instance.
Some of it might be for the new China players i guess

LA
- Love what the Skritt have done to the Bandits (i support them), hope this gets expanded
- Merchants hate Gnashblade and they say he will be their downfall.
- Gnashblade is very much angry at Kiel (and everyone knows)
- Tengus are gone from the wall (old?)
- The Consortium seems to be gone
- The refugee Grawls from Flame and Frost are still gone (wherabouts unknown)

1. Instance:
- Feels forced.
- Taimi was shaken and now she plays hard and mocks Braham again? Geez give it a rest.
- Kiels voice was… weird… bad recording?
- Rox is very much into occultism… ironic since that is something i expected more from a Norn
- Majory wants to follow the Roar of the Eldar Dragon, which confirms that it was heard till LA and was not something for us player to hear.
It also tells us that we have these guys up for the ride again… (please writers… pull them back a little… they dont have to be everywhere… ease them in, please…)
- Canach is not to be found
- Still no explanation of Scarlets attack and why she wanted to have someone in LA as her henchman, while not knowing where the Ley Lines are.
- Simplyfied Scarlet explanation by Taimi

Storywise rather light so far, lets see how it goes. I will edit this, when i am further in

Is Canach still in his cell at Vigil Keep, or gone altogether?

For what it’s worth, the welcome instance is different for players that never did content up till now. i expect that’s how China receives the content. Marjory and the crew are given full credit for Scarlet’s demise and for some reason Taimi is there.

I don’t think Taimi was ever “shaken” like Jaken says. I can’t think of a time she was. She’s always had a friendly teasing relation to Braham.

Rox isn’t into occultism. She’s highly superstitious about luck (this has been known since Queen’s Jubilee). The two are very different, and not something that I would find surprising in even charr.

The Biconics already said in the aftermath party that they all heard it – though they didn’t know what it was (the PC, aka our characters, did and told them).

Well of course there’d be nothing new on Scarlet – this is just a festival, and not the start of Season 2. Think of it like the prologue of a book. You only get questions in those, never answers.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I haven’t gotten to actually play since the update but just from reading the patch notes, the Consortium isn’t gone. They’ve just been relocated to the Postern Ward area with the Fractals entrance.

Has anyone spotted or hear anything that can be hints to season 2? Priory Ella mentions wanting to join the Zephyrites on their next voyage, to a destination they won’t tell her about. Maybe she will join them and the Zephyrites will go to Cantha or Elona or something and the next time they return it will have some references to future campaigns?

I’m not sure if they were there last time, but on the deck of one of the higher ships looks like bamboo ballistas. Did the Zephyrites always have weapons on their ship? If they didn’t, it might indicate they are gearing up for a combat mission.

I glanced at the artifacts and merchant contents but nothing really stood out to me (lots of Cantha references like Rice Wine etc but I think those are old). Even things like the mini panda could lean towards Cantha references but that just fits in with the general theme of the zephyrites.

They had them before on the ship (the ballistsas that is).

Also, one of the Zephrites near the dock mentions the decorations are the result of them modifying the place to show off various cultures they met, and (despite being a long journy) they had been to a great place.

Given the nature of decorations, they could’ve been to cantha.

@Konig:

Taimi
Taimi was rather rattled after she saw what Scarlet has done. Talking to her in the camp has shown her deeply hurt from the death and violence around her.
She is still a child. This should have been a traumatic incident for her.

Even if this incident strenghten her resolve in regard of how she wants to be more active, so things like that won`t happen again, having her act so nonchalant, even mocking the situation is kind of hard to swallow.

She saw death and destruction and now she complains of being sidelined and left behind.
We know her attitude is just to conceal her own inability and subjective failure at that time, it still feels weird.

Right now she jumped back into the know it all annoying asura mode, which she was liked before the events, with no real regard of what has happened.

he only thing she gets sappy about is when she mentions her legs and the rest is flower and sunshine apearently.

I might be thinking too much into it, since this is just a filler release and just the beginning, but i hope we see a bit more developement of her character, aside from the token young loudmouthed genius with a disability.

She is a sad character who plays strong in a dangerous world. However she does not have to be strong all the time and not only for one reason (her legs). I do not enjoy seeing people suffer, however in some instances it is needed to develope them more. Giving us more insight into them.
(i do not say it is needed, but it would be an interesting angle)

Rox
Was it? i think she mentioned home medizine and stuff, but not talking about charms.
While player use it and the like, i felt that charr were still a bit iffy about that stuff.

Scarlet
Nah, i was expecting some explanation on some open questions, instead of a retelling of stuff we allready knew.
Yes it is the prolog of season 2, but based on thing happenening in Season 1, subsequently there was enough time for the people in Tyria (and foremost Taimi, who claims to be the Scarlet expert, even though Majory proved to have much more insight into her crazy mind then her) to finaly give us some more meat to chew on.
As it stands right now, it is unlikely to ever happen, since it is in the past.

@Maethor:
The Facilities (Southsun and Fractals) are there, however i do not see consortium people and buildings (or i just missed them).
The thing that stuck out there were black lion facilities (and seing how many there are now all over the place, it seems like Gnashblade is on the offense)

Edit:
Ah, have found some Consortium people, no dialog as far as i can tell. Well, aside from: “I am busy, move along.”

Overall the decorations could be part china release, part assets that are being used later…

Things i also noticed
- candlelight paperboats at the zephirite docks, apeaerently in honor of the dead people?
- The phoenix is everywhere with no explanation, aside from giving us a reason to crave for cantha and explain the RNG… i mean BLC weapons this patch..
- Magic Show is now ever 15 minutes after the hour.
- Biconics do not have much more to tell you outside the instance, expect of what they think about the other Biconics that are with them

NPC at the bottom of bazaar/near the dock says they changed the appearance/added decorations to reflect some of the cultures they’ve encountered in travels, and recently had been to one, but it was a long journey.

So yeah, there are implications they may have visited Cantha.

btw. does anyone has seen some watchknights at the queens pavillion?
I have not.

Hovever it was established that the thing does run on illusions cast on watchknight frames, which was shown last year, as some of the enemies turned into watchknights after defeat.

They should all be taken down by now, thanks to the Scarlet incident.
Does that mean the Watchknights are back in action? (except for just being a plot point for Scarlet last year, but no one would ever say that wink )

Edit: Nevermind, just found Lord Faren, he said they are all now okay and reworked…
Seems like they are just toys for the masses now?

Why is everyone going on about Taimi? Seriously… Why? You can ask every character about her…

I haven’t gotten a chance to play much, but Taimi said something about the Zephyrites getting prepared to go on a long voyage after they depart. She said they haven’t said exactly where though.

…..if I recall any of that right anyway.

I have not.

They still spawn after an enemy is killed. The whole pavillion works with watchwork.

Zephyrites

The are in a hurry and want to leave soon. Taimi is talking about strange glowing freight and a glowing Zephyrite ship (ambient on top of Zephyr Sanctum). Don’t want to bash the party, but they seem to flee from something.

Queen Pavillion

The loading screen looks more like a phoenix now and has a creepy touch. Don’t remember the screen of last year, but it is noticeable.

Slow clap for the great puppet player.

Marjory says the Zephyrites’ new decorations, etc. are similar to those that her grandparents owned when you speak with her by the Sky Docks waypoint. Since Marjory is Canthan, and given the dialogue from that NPC by the Bazaar Docks waypoint, this is pretty strong implication that they traveled to Cantha.

I know Parker Cole (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Parker_Cole), Carden (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Carden) and Jess (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jess) were all around during the last time the Bazaar came to town but their characters would fit in well with a future story dealing with a Black Market in Brisban Wildlands and the Bandits. Parker Cole and Penna seem like they have more of a story to tell and I’m kind of interested in the Vigil person they are hiding from. They are probably just background characters to give some life to the Bazaar (this really is the best release for GW2 since launch) but I think they have potential.

There is a Zephyrite near Renuu on the big ship that is worried they’ve drawn too much attention this time. I think he’s worried about theives. The three of them have an ambient dialogue scene I missed parts of. I’m not sure if that’s new or not.

Renuu has changed her dialogue. During the Bazaar of the Four Winds she said “My ears are tingling. That can only mean one thing—there’s something hidden here. There’s more to these people than meets the eye.” but now she is saying “Do you ever wonder what sort of cargo these people are transporting? I get the feeling that it’s not just supplies. One of the ships is giving off an unnatural glow.” I think most people would assume that’s the ship with the closing golden door that we see during the “vista” cinematic when you reach the Sky Docks.

Taimi says she’s getting “curious readings” from some crates (she’s standing next to kite baskets?). She also claims to have talked to the dockmaster who told her the Zephyrites are “taking on more cargo” (quick opinion on this: show us don’t use Taimi to tell us) but she can’t “determine what it is”. She thinks they are “eager to get where they are going” but it will be “a long trip”.

There seem to be multiple references to a mysterious cargo and more than one thing leading us towards the glowing door of that airship. My guess is it has something to do with Glint’s children. The Zephyrites continue to be portrayed as cautious and suspicious of outsiders, maybe I’m leading myself on with the Brisban/Bandit speculation, but I wouldn’t be surprised if something is stolen from the Zephyrites during this visit.

Has anyone tried hanging around for more ambient dialogue aside from the Biconics?

I’ve not noticed new ones from it, but… what if it’s related to glint’s child from EOTN?

Well, one possibility there is that they’ve found word that Glint had a child, and their next voyage is following a lead trying to find said child.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
