The guild wars wiki will give you a full summary in detail of every storyline that happened in the gw1 campaigns.

You could just play the game. It’s really cheap now and still very fun.

There’s 3 separate GW1 games and 1 expac. Explaining would take a long time to do, buying them would only take 10 minutes

Maybe he doesn’t have the time to commit to two games. If you can’t play GW1 yourself (if you could/wanted to you probably wouldn’t make this thread) or if you don’t want to read from the wiki I recommend checking out WoodenPotatoes on youtube and find his playlist about the lore of the Guild Wars universe, it’s called Guild Wars 2 Story Summary. It’s a good start.

A summary wouldn’t be too hard!

SPOILERS FOR GUILD WARS 1
Prophecies – Ascalon is ransacked by the Charr. Heroes help some people flee across the Shiverpeaks to Kryta. A religious order, the White Mantle, are in charge, and are secretly serving evil beings known as the Mursaat. The Mursaat are trying to keep creatures known as Titans from escaping their prison and destroying the world. Heroes stop the Titans and stop the Mursaat from ruling mankind.

Factions – In Cantha, a plague is spreading. It turns out the plague is from a man who killed the Emperor long ago, Shiro Tagachi. He is powerful and trying to return to the world. Heroes set out, unite the warring vassal states of the Kurzicks and Luxons, to defeat Shiro.

Nightfall – In Elona, the nation of Kourna is becoming militaristic. The island nation of Istan and their Sunspears set out to defeat Kourna, because it is found that the leader, Varesh Ossa, is consorting with dark powers. The Sunspears are defeated, and then the heroes slowly rebuild, using guerrilla tactics, to fight back against Kourna and the demons that are with them. Varesh opens a portal to the Realm of Torment before being defeated by the heroes. The heroes travel to this realm and find the bad guys from the previous two campaigns are in service to the dark, forgotten god, Abaddon. The heroes kill Abaddon, and their leader, Kormir, ascends to godhood to take his place.

Eye of the North – Earthquakes are happening all over. Heroes investigate and discover Dwarves and Asura working in underground tunnels to fight and escape from lava beings called Destroyers. Heroes travel across Tyria, uniting the Norn, Asura, human forces of the Ebon Vanguard, and Dwarves (and one friendly warband of Charr) in order to fight the Great Destroyer. The Dwarves undergo the Rite of the Great Dwarf, turning them to stone, in order to fight the Destroyers more effectively. They defeat the Great Destroyer, who we now know was a champion of Primordus, delaying Primordus’s awakening by several years.

THE END!

^ Your summary of Prophecies isn’t exactly…thorough nor is it fully correct in sequence of the events.

Basically, the charr performed “the searing” (rain of fire and crystals) on Ascalon, basically wrecking it. Prince rurik lead refugees across the shiverpeaks where he was killed.

Kryta took in the thing and the White mantle(people in power) would ocassionally take chosen to “train”. These chosen were actually being sacrificed on the bloodstone(an ancient stone that holds magic inside of it) to the Mursaat, who are an ancient race of spellcasters also known as the ‘unseen ones’.

The player, with the assistance of the shining blade, discovers these sacrifices and stops the White Mantle/ Mursaat, this in turn releases the titans(big bad guys who taught the charr how to do the searing) from their prison. [woopsies. you caused an ouchy]

Eventually you kill the titans, AFTER they’re released by stopping the mursaat.

Around the time also Vizier Khilbron used a forbidden scroll to sink Orr into the ocean to prevent it from being taken by the charr.

King Adelbern of ascalon used the spell “foefire” to decimate the charr in ascalon which also killed everybody in the city and turned them into ghosts.

That’s a bit of a summary about prophecy based stuff. (It’s called prophecies because your journey is part of the “flameseeker prophecies” spoken by the dragon prophet Glint.

but again I would suggest just reading the wiki. lots of details.

Around the time also Vizier Khilbron used a forbidden scroll to sink Orr into the ocean to prevent it from being taken by the charr.

Happened shortly after the Searing, when the Charr were trying to wipe out all Humans of the Tyrian Continent.

King Adelbern of ascalon used the spell “foefire” to decimate the charr in ascalon which also killed everybody in the city and turned them into ghosts.

Happened after all the Events of GW1, even GW1:Beyond.

Despite the many Charr running around cities in GW2, it’s important to remember that they are really the bad guys and must be stopped before they bring more detruction to Tyria. They destroyed Ascalon with the Searing, turning the land to ash and tar, they marched on Orr, causing Vizier Khilbron to accidentally sink it trying to stop them, and they also marched on Kryta, causing a cult to be put into power of the royal family, which caused the deaths of many Krytans by the Mursaat and lead to a large civil war. Make no mistake, the Charr are evil and out to exterminate humans.

they marched on Orr, causing Vizier Khilbron to accidentally sink it trying to stop them

Highly debatable. He already knew of the Flameseeker Prophecy at this point and may have been a worshipper of Abaddon. Is entirely possible that he knew exactly what would happen to Orr if he performed his spell.

You don’t win friends with salad! Sorry I just got caught up in the rhythm.
