Guild Wars 2

I think it would be really cool to have a series based on the events of gw1. There are a lot of people in gw2 that don’t know the story and I think that’s a shame. GW1 has some amazing story’s telling and it beats out most tv shows today.

If Anet does things like this – or more books – I’d like it to be new stories.

People who want to know GW1’s story can buy GW1 and play it. It’d be worth it for them.

Yeah. Blizzard did a really good job with recent Warlords animated cartoons presentation. Same thing was in Witcher 2.

I think that the art/graphic team is one of the strongest points of ANet and could easily make even more amazing series.

It would have been really awesome to see animated Guild Wars movie, just like World of Warcraft cutsscenes , Resident Evil, Tekken etc. etc..

Maybe it could be a revamp of the henchmen’s story from GW1! They always had a special place in my heart, and already have pretty good character development imo. Even if it wouldn’t be henchmen, I like this idea! I really do!

Even so i have played gw1 and completted it. when i was done i whent on the wiki to get the story because i feel like you misse alot of the story when playing and the only resons why i played gw1 was because of the story xD. So i wish that there would be a person who had no life or just were into the story really well (like Woodenpotatoes) and made a videos with all the small stories and the story of gw in general. Because there are way more stories of gw than the timeline shows on gw1wiki.

But if you actually play through GW1 and pay attention to the dialogue, missions, and quests then you get the full story… The timeline on the wiki was never meant to be a complete timeline of everything that happens, it only shows major events.

I do however think that it would be a really good idea/would be cool if Anet did some kind of animated series. But I agree with Konig, if they were to do so it would need to be new stories.

I would like adventures in Maguuma Jungle, Crystal Desert, Shing Jea Island, Kaineng City, Echovald Forest, the Jade Sea, the Desolation, the Domain of Pain, the Domain of Fear, the Domain of Secrets, the Domain of Anguish(redesigned to look more like the Gate of Anguish) and the Depths of Madness….

I also want Mad King Thorn’s Mad Little Ponies involved in the Realm of Torment adventures….. Excluding Mister Gumdrops of course!

One thing I found was awesome was Wooden Potatoes’ short series on the lore of GW1. If you look it up, it follows (sort of) the henchmen from the original trilogy up through 1/3 of factions. I don’t know why it is incomplete but the stuff they have done is really nice. On top of that, the art style they used for it isn’t that bad either.

I also did a couple of episodes regarding the start of GW1 Prophecies, from the point of view of the Mad Queen, and her monk companion Miya. For the most part, its a good recap of what happens during the Searing, up to the moment when Prince Rurik crosses the Shiverpeaks, and the side story with Lady Althea.

WoodenPotatoes has stated that it is currently on pause, but it will be continued. Most of the next episode(s) has already been written.

He’s said that he wants to release it at a time more relevant to GW2 development (e.g. if we’re going into Cantha / Elona / Crystal Desert etc.).

Screw an animated TV series bring on a live action series.
