Glint vs Kraggy
Well, her main motivation in EoD would most likely be her own survival, which wasn’t really in question in GW1.
Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
As stated in Edge of Destiny, she had been collecting all of the dragon blood and the spine spear over the millenia. Nothing says she had the spear during GW1.
Also note that she stated that the heroes of the Flameseeker returned to try and kill her on page 338: “Three hundred years ago I welcomed heroes such as yourselves, hailing them as the Chosen who would destroy the titans and save the world. But did they remember? Did not the very heroes that I sent return to battle me again?” (the note of “again” means that it’s not talking about the bonus mission of The Dragon’s Lair)
So she did not have the players at her desposal, and she might not have had the spine. And that back of Kralkatorrik’s – mistaken as a mountain (range) by many – looked far more solid than what a mere spear could sunder. And a failed attempt would have likely awakened Kralkatorrik – best to wait for it to rise on its own, giving her and the races time to prepare.
Plus, I imagine that if she was able to kill the Elder Dragons – any Elder Dragon – she would have done so to all of them in the 3,000+ years she was alive.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
As someone who hasn’t read any of the novels, can you shed a bit more light on the part about the heroes returning to fight her? Are there any more references to what happened there?
EDIT: Never mind, I lied before. There is one more line. “But three hundred years ago, the dragons’ bellies were empty, and their minds were awakening. Three hundred years ago, the sons of men fought me before they understood that I was their ally.” Put the two together, and it seems our GW1 heroes attacked Glint in a similar misunderstanding that she was with the Elder Dragons, and she afterwards helped them. The whole thing stinks of a Guild Wars: Beyond story arc that will now never materialize.

Yeah. I can see it being where the Order of Whispers originally find out about the Elder Dragons, as they were the first to know and tried to warn people long before even the rise of Zhaitan (originally like where that info came from, Zhaitan was the second dragon to rise, and Jormag third – so in retrospect it would be “even before Jormag rose”).
