Gnashblade's Interest in the Fall of Abaddon?

Well, we also know that the Titans, which were considered Gods by the Charr back in GW1 were constructs of Abaddon, so it is fully possible that he would want to learn a bit more about him because of that.

I want to note here, the Titans were not constructs of Abaddon. They were naturally occurring if I remember right, but a spirit called The Fury learned how to create them and made hordes of them to work for Abaddon. But, if I remember right, Abaddon himself never created them, that we know of.
^ Ah yes indeed.
They were nonetheless sent/used by Abaddon however which could make a Charr interested in his story.

Belief in Abaddon is a seller’s market right now. Evon Gnashblade is a shrewd businessman.
@OP’s title question"
I doubt Evon’s interest in the past isn’t entirely…religious.

My thought coming from this: Evon is Flame.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Evon could be the personal nemesis? If he is flame legion then considering his standing as perhaps the most reputable merchant in Tyria (or something to that effect) he could have had a hand in getting the flame legion and dredge to work together?
Very possible though a dev slipped that it’s a she.
I wouldn’t mind Evon being the personal nemesis. However, if that’s so, then there’ll end up being a huge change in the gemstore’s in-game lore happening – specifically, who leads the BLTP.

In the next release, the challange involves us ransaking the treasure of a crashed Aetherblade ship for either Evon or Kiel. So unless the nemesis isnt linked to the Aetherblade Pirates, it strikes me as unlikely for Evon to be the nemesis.
Interestingly though, from what I could see of the ‘lore dialog’ of the event, Evon’s first mate refers to the Aetherblades as her ‘fromer crewmates’. Evon recruiting from the Aetherblades? What that means though for the long story is anyones guess at this point.
Well, I wouldn’t say that the charr view the human gods as a challenge they have to defeat, as much as they see the gods as powerful beings that supported the humans during the (roughly) first half of their war against one another. They know the gods are powerful, but they don’t feel the need to kneel down in front of, and worship them the way that the humans did.
If anything, Evon taking interest in the human gods just goes to show how the charr think of them as more of a thing to study and not something to reverie. Taking a look at how Abbadon, a former god, fell will just add more information that the charr, and the other races, can see how beings with extensive amounts of power can be defeated.
Addendum: I just thought of a good comparison that could work for Evon’s interest in the fall of a human god. As an atheist, a friend of mine read the Christian bible, and other religious texts for a semi-long period of time. He wasn’t really interested in finding (a) god, as much as he just wanted to learn more about what makes the people that follow certain religions tick. Evon could just be satisfying a curiosity that he could have had for a while now.

@Triggersad: The charr do view the human gods as something to fight and try to kill:
Before the time of the humans, it is said the Charr had no gods, no concept of divine beings with more power than themselves. They knew of Melandru, and even had legends that described how she created the world. But to the Charr, these beings were not to be worshiped or feared–they were to be fought, and if possible, destroyed.
