I’ve read the 2 books released, but wasn’t there supposed to be a third one? Ankittenhe only one that found the books better then the personal storyline in the game?

The third one is not yet released. It seems to be planned for release this summer though.

I’ll be keeping an eye on that then.

Does anyone have any idea if there is going to be a fourth book any time soon? I searched other forums, but couldn’t find any credible response confirming or rejecting it. Several fan-made content occasionally mentions a book based on a dungeon, namely “Crucible of Eternity”, but again this information does not seem credible.

Officially there have only ever been those three books announced.
It is possible that others might come in the future, but as of right now there is no official information about it.

As I’ve heard it, Crucible of Eternity was an early concept for the third in the run that was scrapped in favor of Sea of Sorrows. Take that with a grain of salt, as it is just hearsay.

That’s more than just hearsay, actually. They had an external writer lined up to write a novel that was to be titled “Crucible of Eternity”, but it was indeed scrapped in favor of Ree writing Sea of Sorrows. Both ArenaNet and the hired writer (who’s name I cannot recall, sadly) confirmed this in the past.

However, there’s no reason to believe that the scrapped novel will be anything but a scrapped novel.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
