At least to me it seems their claw could have been killed by a Mursaat.

If I’m not mistaken, there’s a DE that randomly occurs where a Largos assassin shows up out of nowhere to assassinate the Kodan Chief of that village. Perhaps that’s said “creature” he’s talking about, given that Largos and Kodan hardly shared the same landmass, let alone location up until now.

They are indeed referring to the largos. You see they said that after the claw died the attacker ‘vanished’ which means that the assassin was visible at one point. The mursaat are only ever visible to those who have ascended, which I’m not even sure if we can do that anymore.

I suppose it would depend on whether or not the seer is still alive.

Just to clarify lol, The rite of ascention was something that the humans did out in the crystal desert, to become closer to the gods and gain their favor. The Seers were capable of infusing our armor so that we could survive the mursaat’s spectral agony.

I’m pretty sure the Mursaat can choose to be visible to people who aren’t ascended (a la Saul D’Alessio). Either way, it was definitely a Largos in this case

This is the guy the kodan talks about.

Regarding mursaat invisibility – it isn’t actual invisibility, as shown in the Arah explorable dungeon. Furthermore, jakep is correct in that they can chose to appear before someone – their “invisibility” is actually, as a Durmand Priory scholar puts it, magic that makes them “out of phase” with the world. Considering their magic’s ties to souls, I suspect that it allows them to hide themselves from mortal view in the same manner than spirits can – with Ascension (known as Weh no Su in Cantha) being the only means to prevent spirits becoming hidden from you. Furthermore, it’s implied that they can’t attack while invisible – while this isn’t so much the case for largos (which seem to have some form of racial stealth mechanic).

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
