Horses
Personally, I think the Dolyak should be used for everything. I want armored Dolyaks to ride into battle. Forget about horses.
The same image also shows many more Dolyaks being used for transport. But the foremost image is of a horse.
My question is why does everyone care so much about horses?
I’m not exactly excited or expecting horses to come back. Personally I think the artist drew it without putting much thought into the fact that there are no horses in the game.
But the image is very obviously a horse..
There have always been horse in Tyria, the name pops up a lot. The only reason we don’t see them is that they are hiding from us afraid we all try to mount them, like they do in some other games.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!

My Little Pony, I guess?
Anyway, there were horses in Tyria once. Alas, the Carr discovered that they tasted good with barbeque sauce. Real good.
Do you even lift, bro?
Horses exist in Tyria, they are not extinct, they still run around doing horse things (if you read Edge of Destiny, you will notice living horses are seen near Lion’s Arch). The reason we don’t see them is that players would demant to be able to mount them. Anet has no plans for mounts, therefore we don’t see horses. Many people probably don’t know that horses can be used for much more than riding…
Anyway, short answer, horses do exist, but we don’t see them because people are stupid.
Horses always existed in lore. We just never see them in game – the same way we never saw krytan drakehounds in Kryta in GW1, or drakes in Ascalon in GW1 (sans a single River Drake).
An Empire Divided says Emperor Kaineng Tah fell off his riding horse when he died.
There’s the Necrid Horsemen from Orr.
In Edge of Destiny, there’s a scene featuring a plateau with horses seen through an asura gate (meaning that there were horses in a likely-abandoned above-ground gate 5 years prior ot the game).
Horses have always existed in Tyria for lore – specifically we know “Cantha” “Orr” and “Tyria in general, likely Kryta or Ascalon given the description”
Furthermore, horses were featured in concept art since the days of Prophecies, and were heavy in Utopia. However, they still never featured.
So this concept art doesn’t raise the chances. But it is possible they’d add them to be like deer or the like.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I think ArenaNet should make mounted enemies that we have to fight off just to spite the people who want mounts, lol.
“But they can mount why can’t we? *Sobs*Cries*
Yes, bring back guys like this
