Hunt for the "Order of W(h)ispers Secret Messages"
maybe the letters missing in each message are used to form a word that may one day be used to access some lost lore in an order location?
Perhaps… I should personally track down message #4 to see if it’s also missing an “h”.
I still feel like the code is in the numbers and the missing “h” is just a typo, but it wouldn’t hurt to check.
The code is actually on a ring obtained from a heart quest from a karma merchent it is called the order of whispers a1 decoding ring and in its desciption it has a bunch of codes lie 1=g or something however i threw out the ring as it didnt have any importance and its stats wernt accustomated to my level i also dont remember the merchent who sold it but im sure it was from a heart.
@ Red That is amazing information. Any idea the vague range level range of the heart? If it was a low/mid/high level area? I’ve done all the hearts, so I could just go from heart to heart to track down this ring.
Also message 4 is also missing an “h”.
I suspect this is the decoder ring Red was referring to. Description doesn’t seem to help too much.

I tried some random testing to see if there were any noticeable patterns that would help identify these as a being encoded with a cipher. So far no luck. I’d be interested to see if these are in fact a hidden message (even just a phrase as a joke would be cool). Hope someone can dig up some more clues or would be nice if Anet could confirm if there’s nothing to find (to save us time haha).
there is a decoder ring that marks the following:
A1 15 35 1 15 95 85 65 15 12 5
there is a secret note with a similar pattern:
B2 12 89 12 92
and three secret codes:
talk time dark snow
break, blaze, judgement, sabotage
asura, orrian, local, attack
I think the pieces are all there for us to decode, but I’ve not been able to crack the code yet.
for more info go to http://www.gw2db.com/search?search=Order+of+Whispers
The codes look like command codes.
Dungeon Master (Dec-23-’12) Warrior class
break and blaze have the same amount of letters, as judgement and sabotage have.
asura <→ local
orrian <→ attack
the numbers are not ascii nor hexadecimal ascii
Oh wow, thank you all for responding.
According to the database, there is no secret message 1, 2, or 3.
Here are the numbers on messages 4 and 5 for reference:
Message 4:
“31 254 13 56”
Message 5:
“31 31 51 67 85”
Perhaps the other messages are not in the game yet? I have a few ideas about the code, but no time to test them…
I’m trying to break the code, but I’ve had no luck yet.
Yeah, no luck here either. I tried looking at substitution ciphers with the word combos, but that won’t work, as there are too many inconsistencies that indicate it cannot be a substitution cipher.
I suspect they just programmed random numbers, but I still want to believe that there may be a hidden code here somewhere (the fun is in the hunt).
Maybe these were just the numbers on someone’s card on bingo night.
Still got nothing. Does any of you have any clue??
Oh, by the way. Orrian and Apples have the same number of letters.
I’m beginning to get obsessed with this.

Wild uninformed guess: recipies use four items, some of the codes are made of four words or four numbers
anyways thanks for the entertaining read I had no idea gw had interesting little tidbits like this
