Anyway!

You see, when I started Guild Wars 2, I was promised Elder Dragons.
Can anyone explain to me in the simplest possible terms…

Why we are now facing a huge, naked robot woman stampeding in the snow?

In case it’s not clear why I am confused:
Elder Dragons. Giant naked robot woman stampeding in snow. Elder Dragons. Giant naked robot woman stampeding in snow. Elder draaaagons… giant robot woman…
Just say that aloud a few times, and try not to smile.

Just to be safe: I really enjoy this game. I’m glad they’re updating it frequently.
I’m just confused by the “lore”. Or whatever is still left of it. It just doesn’t feel like the same game anymore, and not in a good way.
It has me somewhat confused, concerned but also amused by this point. I’m really not going to stop playing the game because of these things, so long as they stay non-intrusive, and I’m not trying to bash it actively. It’s just so amusing. That is all.

Scarlet’s arc has been stated to be a filler arc between the Elder Dragons’ plots. They want the Elder Dragons to last long enough, rather than having all of these world-ending beings killed so quickly. Scott mcGough stated that there will be an Elder Dragon plot every couple years.

Given the fact that we have heard nothing of Jeff Grubb and Ree Soesbee’s involvement in the game’s plot after release, I bet they’re working on the next plot after Scarlet. We have already been told that Scarlet is a mere filly, and we were told that her story has been getting made as the LW goes – clearly little to no forethought was put into Scarlet, no more than a few months at best. But the missing action of at least two major lore writers for the company? Something’s going on in the background.

Scarlet ends in 3 more updates – 6 weeks. She’s gone by March. And come the second update of March (should be March 18th I believe), we’ll have our next plot beginning. Let’s hope for Jormag.

I’ve been having mild trouble keeping up the past month or so, and while I heard that it’d all end around March, I had no idea about the other things.

I hope they are still around and working on delivering something great. After all, Arena Net did learn a lot about presentation and visualisation through all the Scarlet related… “stuff”. Whilst this may be a dark chapter in the lovely lore of Guild Wars… I hope it wasn’t all for naught.

Fingers crossed. Still giggling at the huge woman robot… stampeding. Theehee.

Because it’s filler. No different than the first 10 or so of your personal story quests having no relevance to Zhaitan.

I just hope the other elder dragons recieve the same attention Zhaitan has.
Which is:
-A whole bunch of personal story quests (permanently available)
-3 new zones dedicated to this dragon (just like zhaitan had Orr)
-A permanent dungeon with a weapon/armor set

I expect nothing less for the other elder dragons.

Zhaitan actually had more than just 3 zones. But I suppose what isn’t akin to Orr (or Sparkfly) is already in-game.
