Apparently during Scarlet’s Vision she saw Tyria and The Mists
The mists aren’t outer space though.

the mists is everything. not just entire universes, but entire dimensions are part of it.
but i’m sorry, those orbs are dragons. it says so right in the game (check your story journal)
