Guild Wars 2

I’m bias, so I’m making a bias thread. Note there may be spoilers here.
Yup.

Basically, I am in love with necromancers (and ritualists, but beside the point) and I thought, “Why not combine my two favorite things together in one thread: lore and necromancers?”

The goal of this thread is to find interest lore tidbits on this profession from both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. That way, we have an interesting collection of profession based fun facts. This can be here for enjoyment, roleplay reference, story reference, or what have you.

It can include speculations (as the lore only explains so much), but clarify it’s speculation. Example:

Speculation :
Verata’s studies are related to the base cast for the necromancer minions we see today. Why? Two hundred and fifty years ago, Verata was working on experiments to lengthen the health of his minions. They lacked the inherent health degeneration of normal minions. Today (Guild Wars 2), we no longer have a health degeneration on our minions.

Be willing to discuss the lore you find and your speculations. Try to play nicely if you participate in this thread.
