" Are Djinn like Zommoros related to elementals? What is the typical process that creates a Djinn?

Leif Chappelle: While my specific knowledge of the djinn is elementary (ha), I consulted the wise Jeff Grubb regarding their background. Here’s what I discovered: Djinn are, unlike elementals, free-willed and sentient beings that have the capacity to communicate. Their souls are made up of elemental energies, as opposed to the servitor creatures that spells create. Djinn are to other elementals as humans are to other animals. They’re made of similar basics, but more evolved."

There’s definitely a lot to the Djinn. Here’s some GW1 wiki articles if you wanted to take a look. There were Djinn in GW1 who actually helped us out in certain situations/missions and were working towards keeping Abbaddons taint out of Elona.

They also have the ability to transform into humans (We Dehjah do it when she’s helping us in the Rilohn Refuge mission and Yartu can as well)

They do seem to be able to be captured and or forced into servitude.
There were Djinn in Sorrow’s Furnace (GW1 elite dungeon, it’s now know as Sorrows Embrace in GW2) that were used to power the Iron Forgeman, and obviously there’s Zommoros stuck inside the Mystic Forge.

Djinn are said to be bound due to their avarice, often by powerful wizards. They’re just not made for servitude.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
