Someone told me this interesting little tidbit. The charr keeps mumbling 97 and doesn’t give us a concrete answer. However, think about it. What’s the most relevant thing with numbers? Fractals. What’s fractal 97? Thaumonova Reactor. What’s in the fractal? The most powerful incarnation of the first anomaly ever created! And we all know how relevant the anomalies have been lately. Is this a fun Easter egg or possibly a deeper connection?

I was actually thinking 97days till the next expantion announcement, but this theory is nice, too!

The fractal number doesn’t change so I’m not sure what you’re referring to here… Only time they’ve changed is when they added Chaos Isles Fractal.

Thing is it’ll change again when they add the next fractal, and so forth, unless they make an intentional move to never change fractal 97.

He probably thought about the next expansion date.
I don’t believe it have to do with the fractal numbers though. Don’t think fractals levels have any base in lore.

The next expansion date has no base in lore either.

People here are obviously thinking of 4th wall breaking explanations.
