The head piece on the medium, and I think the heavy as well, has a bunch of little circles all scrunched together just like Orrian architecture. The armors also have a cultural aesthetic that is different from what we’ve seen, particularly the heavy armor. Plus the screenshot of the medium armor on the Wintersday update page was taken in Malchor’s Leap.

Ascended armor is crafted one. So we can assume that visual design is only matter of personal taste of armorsmith who created recipe, not something predefined. I never heard anything special about Orrian armor.

To counter Rednik’s statement: All of the rare weapons crafted are of cultural design (dredge, krait, ogre, bandit, etc.) so at least some of the crafted items can be culturally influenced.

As to the Ascended armor specifically being Orrian, I’m doubtful. Just doesn’t have an Orrian feel to it in design, given that Orrians were influenced by Arabic culture and it doesn’t really match the outfits we’ve seen (on King Reza in GW2 or on Khilbron/the undead in GW1, tattered though the latter may be).

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
