The history of the Pale Tree as stated in the following link below states that there are other seeds which are of the same species as the Pale Tree. Is there potential for these other seeds to be planted and create other types of sylvari? I would love to see other Pale Trees sprouting, each following a different philosophy.

There’s a Sylvari storyline in which you meet a sylvari from another tree.

No, not the Green Knight. Where Life Goes, So Too Should You. The Green Knight just dealt with the invincible (thanks to enchanted armor) Nightmare Courtier.

Ye there is another pale tree round. If Malyck is a firstborn, we don’t know. It is very likely this other tree is in the maguuma wastes or beyond. But we don’t know much beyond that. There are suspicion that this tree might be partially under the influence of mordremoth (the plant elder dragon that is a big enigma), but that would put out concerns how Malyck escaped without any memory…..

It’s in Magus Falls. We’re told it lies west of the river that the pod was in – which heads south into Metrica Province and out west. It should be approximately around where The Falls was in GW1.

I don’t see how this tree could possibly be under influence of Mordremoth.

And Malyck DOES have his memory – it was a (false) presumption on the PC, Caithe, and Trahearne that he didn’t because he didn’t know of the Grove or the Pale Tree. But if you went with Caithe’s option in the storyline, Malyck shows that he remembers everything from the moment he awakened. He just didn’t have a Dream of Dream experience (that he knows of, though according to the Trahearne option, at all).

I find it interesting that this would seem to imply not all trees of the Pale Tree’s species are connected to the Dream of Dreams. If the Dream is in fact something more like the mists (or a place within the mists), then that could make sense since different areas in the world have a stronger or weaker connection to the mists. A tree that sprouts in a part of Tyria with a weaker connection could have no Dream at all, like Malyck’s tree, whereas others may even share the same Dream.

I hope we get to learn more about Malyck and his tree in the future. It’s a part of the game that really interests me.

Not only is it heavily implied that this second tree holds no connection to the Dream of Dreams, but there are non-sylvari/pale tree-species creatures that can enter the Dream of Dreams. Namely, the White Stag.

It’s also interesting to note the portal that the Pale Tree makes to send players into the Dream of Dreams during the personal story step “A Light in the Darkness” – it’s a blue circular portal, and is the same exact kind that the Sons of Svanir, Icebrood, and Havrouns use to enter/leave the Mists. It’s also interesting to note that during the norn storyline Defend the Mists, you enter the Mists twice – and in both cases, you’re in the exact same location and appearance, except that things are more cloudy and there’s a change in NPCs (to signify going into the spirit realm): namely, the new ones being spirits or SoS/icebrood. It’s a similar situation as entering the Dream of Dreams during that story step.

It could be possible that Ventari affected that particular Pale Tree to teach her progeny (you see a Ventari’s spirit/form in your dream teaching his tablet iirc).

Maybe other Pale Trees with so much care taken upon them don’t have enough “source material” to make a dream for their sylvari (like sleeping without dreaming, or just dreaming non-sense), so the ones from Ventari’s tree are special in that aspect.

The Pale Tree is not the Dream of Dreams’ maker nor controller. She’s merely a caretaker for it. She doesn’t even know the full origins or nature of the Dream of Dreams.

Yeah, we have that much from her own mouth. She specifically rebuts the player character’s assumption that the Dream comes from her by saying, "No, dear heart. I do not control the Dream. I am simply its caretaker."

So while Ventari clearly had an impact on the Dream, he didn’t have a hand in its creation through the Tree since she doesn’t even have a hand in it that way. We do see other races involved in the Dream in the course of the story though, so that’s why I like the Mists explanation. It’s a tidy parallel and would explain how Ventari had such an influence here where another tree elsewhere didn’t even have a dream at all.

The mists are a strange and fragmented place, closely reflecting the physical world yet having little if any concept of the barriers of time.
