Jennah's Cat is a Mesmer Illusion
Or is just another immortal Shining Blade member disguised by an illusion? Maybe there’s an invisible spider around somewhere too?
That’s the average age of a normal housecat.
She’s a queen so her cat is likely to be of decent breeding which means it’s more likely to live in the 18year range.
Also 12-14 is an average based on a LOT of cats – and people don’t always take amazing care of their cats.
A cat that is cared for properly should live quite a bit longer than 14 years. I have a 13 year old cat at the moment and he is in perfect health and not in the slightest bit old.
Also most house cats don’t die of old age but rather are put down due to health problems – which are generally genetic problems from poor breeding.
Idk if this is something in GW lore, but he could always be her “Familiar” (if they have those in Tyria) which should extend his lifespan from anywhere from twice the lifespan he’d normally have, to living as long as his master.
I’m assuming Familiars ARE in the GW universe because of the Witch and Bloody Prince outfit having a skill called “Summon Familiar”

“Jennah took the throne as a very young woman. When her father died, she was the only heir. For the few years it took her to settle in, the Ministry had control. It was difficult to convince them to give it up again.”
Logan sayeth this during Liberation (Dead Sister storyline).
She took the throne when her father died, but could not control the kingdom fully due to inexperience – the Ministry took over what she was unable to do. She could have been put on the throne at 12 for all we know, though I think 14-16 is more likely, putting her in her mid twenties.
Any “coming of age” is irrelevant in the matter of Jennah being crowned (though it should be noted that with how much historical references Anet does, having a more historical coming of age rather than modern times’ age for such is more likely, which would put it closer to 14 I believe).
Childhood can easily count until the coming of age in a culture, however, and having a cat “since [she] was a child” could easily mean she got that cat when she was 12 or something.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Magically extended lifespans are a thing in the GW universe. I don’t see any reason why a person who is supposedly as powerful as Queen Jenneh is stated to be couldn’t use some of that power to extend the lifespan of someone or something precious to them.
i had a cat that lived 20 years ._.
If that cat pulls a professor McGonagall and turns into Livia all of my prayers will have been answered.
I think she’s a little to dignified to have spent the last x number of years living as a cat…

Well, the cat could be totally harmless. But if Harry Potter taught us anything, its always be at least slightly suspicious of long live childhood pets of important characters.
