Jormag's Claw
Dragons can have multiple champions
An Elder Dragon can have more than one champion. For example, since you seem to be familiar with Jormag and “Drakkar”, the latter is a known, unnamed champion of Jormag, but when Svanir was transformed into the Nornbear, he became an additional Champion of Jormag.
This can also be seen around Orr, where Zhaitan has many Champions flying above, battling The Pact airship armada for control of the skies.
I hope this clears up any confusions.

I read somewhere in GW2 Drakkar=Jormag
wich makes sense, becausse Drakkar=Dragon and how do the Norn Call Jormag again, idd Dragon
Drakker is not Jormag. Drakker is Jormag’s champion. Peolpe thought that the dragon in Drakkar Lake was Jormag but it isn’t.
picking an example that’s already in game:
zhaitan has eyes, mouths, and those lich dragons as champions. and A LOT of those lich draongs, like seriously.
that’s why whenever you end a tequatl/shatterer/claw event, they don’t fly away, they just die. the shatterer goes as far as exploding. you’re just fighting one of many, kill them, and then wait for another one to come by.
@RAWR: The Making of Guild Wars 2 book indicates that Drakkar is the champion’s name, so it seems to no longer be unnamed.
@Wouw: You probably read that Jormag woke up beneath Drakkar Lake. This is an inconsistency stated by only 3 NPCs I believe (one in Hoelbrak, 2 in Frostgorge Sound), which is contradicted by not only at least one other NPC (forgot where) who states that Jormag awoke north of old norn territories, but various interviews and even a direct comment from Jeff Grubb via Stephane Lo Presti that Drakkar is, in fact, not Jormag and that there was never anything indicating such (Jeff should have looked closer at NPCs dialogues – I’ve seen many which are contradicting his statements from interviews…).
@Bruno: They’re not lich dragons? A lich is rather unique in undeath and Zhaitan’s known to only have one – Mazdek.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
^ you know what i mean, kitten it :P
i didn’t mean lich in a lore friendly way, i just mean lich dragon as an easy visual reminder of how they look like.
Indeed, there are many elder dragon champions. For example, in EoD book, there has been a risen Pirate captain, who was acting as Zaithan’s champion.
Alright thank you all for the explanations. I really hope that we get to fight Drakkar in the future then, even though he is weirdly shaped for a dragon.
Whoever said Drakkar’s a dragon? It could be a corrupted now-extinct sea creature. The thing always looked like a huge kitten mandragor to me though.

Speaking of them... during the headstart weekend, while running about in the world, I lamented to my friend that "this was not an authentic Guild Wars experience" due to the lack of mandragor attacks.
Those buggers *shakes fist*! I know they’re out there, somewhere, plotting my demise.
^ keep those kitten mandragors away. it’s not enough that they came in large packs and healed themselves, half of them you had to kill twice >.>
I don’t recall any mandragors that you had to kill twice. Outside resurrecting enemies, only krait might have done such with their metamorphosis skill.

The only things I remember killing more than once were the mantids in the Charr Homelands which used False Death. Never had issues with mandragors though.
well, that’s the problem.
i mistook mandragors for mantids
/fail
Oh yeah, I forgot about those buggers. /endlamepun

gotta say, I’m not looking forwards to Far Shiverpeaks, Charr Homelands, or Elona because of Mandragors and their possible return. I sure as heck hope that they took the gargoyle route and either just disappeared, or were eradicated by the GW1 travelers due to their annoyances.
