I love this Elder Dragon, and I’d like to know more about him, if possible.
I find the Elder Dragons mysterious, and awesome! And Kralkatorrik is one of my favorite.

Read Edge of Destiny if you want more information on him. It is by far the best source of information on this dragon. You go further in depth into him than I think you even get into Zhaitan during this game, because of the situation that was going on.

Edge of Destiny and all along the Dragonbrand is where our lore on Kralkatorrik lies. The wiki article of him summarizes it all pretty well. There’s concept art of him in the cinematic during Sorrow’s Embrace though.

I was re reading up on kralkatorrik and also glint on the wiki earlier and had forgotten about her offspring. It says it is unknown what happened to her offspring and if they are corrupted. I idlely speculated maybe shatterer could be offspring from Glint.

On topic i like the lore of kralkky. And he is huuuuuge!!

Kralkatorrik is reaaaaally huge! The brand really shows how big he is and I hope his appearance in game won’t be disappointing like Zhaitan, who was hardly bigger than our airship…
I also wonder when and if we will be able to see the huge hole in Crystal Desert where Kralkatorrik fell…

That’s an interesting thought…
What happened to Glint’s offspring? Did they all die? Did they all get corrupted? Or are they going to help players against the other Dragons?

Yeah, i’d like to ride and/or fly in some instanced part of the game eventually. They already have the technology to make us swim. That wouldn’t be too hard.
I agree that we shoudn’t have mounts nor the ability to fly in the open world though.
But since the zones are separated through portals, a flying zone (just one) would rock.

Back to kralks, I payed him a visit today with my GW1 elementalist. I didn’t know he was there back in GW1. What a magnificent beast.

The Shatterer, unlike other Branded, is hollow. Most Branded’s insides are crystallized and shimmering, however the Shatterer’s insides are transparent and electrical. Furthermore, the skin of living beings turn gray when Brandified, whereas the Shatterer’s “skin” is blackish, much like the twisted ground.

The Shatterer was, by all appearances, created from the land and air itself.

That’s not where Kralkatorrik fell – that was Glint’s sanctuary, where Destiny’s Edge and Glint fought Kralkatorrik.

I once made an idle suggestion in some “how would you like the Elder Dragon fights to be” for the post-Zhaitan fights. My suggestion for Kralkatorrik was that he went through the Tomb of the Primeval Kings portal (which was right north of Glint’s lair) and invaded the Hall of Heroes; so we follow through to see a semi-corrupted HoH, where we go into an aerial battle over the pockets of Mists within the Rift, fighting Kralkatorrik while using Glint’s children as mounts using the mechanics of environmental weapons, improved.

It would indeed be awesome.

In Wrath of The Lich King, Blizzard added vehicle weapons. Much like rideable enviromental weapons. Half of this dungeon, including the final boss, you fight riding a dragon an using its skills.

The dragons were the good guys in wow at the beginning of their storyline, they were 5 families. But each family had their own problems.
Black dragons turned evil by the influence of an old god.
Blue dragons turned crazy and xenophobic due to black dragons’ deeds.
Bronze dragons were too busy trying to fix the time-space continum.
Green dragons went away to something similar to the dream and then forgot they were allies with the real world.
And red dragons were enslaved by the orcs when the orcs were pure evil.

But that’s not a story for this forum. Other time, other universe. The thing is, it’d be sooo cool to ride a dragon in a dungeon again.

Oh I was certain it was the place where they knocked him down! Though yes…according to map that is the place where “Dragon’s Lair” was/is…
I did not read this thread, but it would certainly be an epic fight! Let’s hope ANet considers this…
I would love if Glint’s offspring survived but remained uncorrupted…

Here is something about glint’s offspring. What if we were fighting kralkatorrik and we were outmatched even with destiny’s edge’s help (because they aint got snaff DUH!) and all of a sudden, a bunch of glints offspring come flying from another crystal sanctum in a grain of sand. just a thought of what could happen.

I think it’s more likely that Glint had her offspring move to a safer location because of the fact that she knew that Kralkatorrik would come for her. We know that at least 1 was born, and I assume in 250-ish years many more could have been born.

I kind of want to know how Glint had children in the first place. To our knowledge, there isn’t another uncorrupted, not to mention male, crystal dragon out there to be her partner. Was she able to reproduce asexually?

She had different aspects of herself ;-)

It probably all depends on what she was before she was corrupted in the first place.

The Branded are said to being able to make more of themselves – whether tihs means corrupting other beings or simply making branded from the pure crystal corruption itself is unknown. I suspect Glint did the same – either creating those “babies” from pure raw crystal “corruption” (corruption free of Kralkatorrik’s influence, I’d imagine given the baby’s attitude in the mission), or Glint went and corrupted creatures of whatever she was before (sand drakes?) and turned them into dragon champion-level minions (again, free of Kralk’s influence).

The fact that the eggs were pure, translucent, crystal kind of implies the former.

Yeah, I didn’t know she was in GW1 until I did some research due to this thread.

I don’t think it has a gender, FYI. Krakatorrik and Primordus are both in GW1, though I expect Primordus to change given that he would be little bigger than the GW2 version of Glint.
