Guild Wars 2

Heya! So, Snaff is my favorite character. It actually upsets me that he’s dead! Reading some of his lore on the GW2 wiki, reading that he was able to mind control an elder dragon, Zojja and Kudu, ect. He’s awesome! I want a statue of him in my home, screw Eir! Anyways, I played GW1 for like an hour when I was younger. I was wondering/hoping that if I played GW1, if I could learn more about or even meet Snaff? Or, is there a better way? Recently learn that there’s Guild Wars books! Is there certain books I should read that pertain to Snaff? Thank you!

The book “Edge of Destiny” goes into a lot of detail about Snaff. GW1 does not have any info on him.

As a side question, is there anyway I could get something to wear that Snaff would be proud of, on my engineer? I know I can get T3 Light armor, but was hoping there was something I could do with my medium wearing Engineer.

I think it would be really cool if there was a storyline where an elder dragon sends a champion into the past and we need to preserve the present by going back and fighting battles that took place in the novels. They could also make battles from the novels fractals.

That would be awesome, Silvercyclone!! I would love to play with Snaff, GW2 dream come true!!

Out of curiosity, since outside of the book, Snaff barely features much in GW2 apart from some passing comments here and there……why do you like him so much as to say he’s your favourite?

The only armor from snaff is Zojjia and Kudos which Zojjia is wearing the right arm of Snaff armor and Kudo is wearing the left arm of Snaff, since they were both his students. Oh Snaff was a Elementalist so his armor of at least half of his armor is the light armor.

Snaff’s profession is never mentioned. We just see him wearing purple-colored Tier 3 light armor modified with a second arm-device (his right arm’s blue, which we later see on Zojja (in the concept art she’s missing that device), while his left arm is red, later seen on Kudu).

But NPCs aren’t restricted to heavy/light/medium armor (Logan wears leather armor in Edge of Destiny after all), and as said, Snaff’s profession is never mentioned. Given all his focus on mental control over golems, mesmer is a good guess but it’s just a guess.

Personally, I’d lean more towards Snaff falling into engineer, since he never actually casts a spell, all of his solutions revolve around something built for the task, and Zojja pokes at him for trusting metal over magic. That said, though, he’s probably simply a golemancer- not every individual is going to train in our ‘heroic’ professions, after all.
