WARNING

DANGEROUS SEA MONSTER

Lions Arch authorities kindly remind all visitors that sea monsters have rendered our beaches unsafe for the general public. Should you choose to ignore this warning then upon your inevitable grisly demise members of our local pirate population will ensure the fair division of your worldly possessions despite your potential horrible end. Find comfort and the knowledge that you will soon no longer care and that you will have made a generous contribution to those who ironically have more respect for the rule then you do.

I don’t know if I believe this will be about the DSD (I was thinking more along the lines of the Leviathan from the Manifesto trailer IIRC), but aren’t the DSD’s servants tentacled monsters? That thing in the picture appears to have tentacles—not sure.

we don’t know how the DSD’s servants look like, because we’ve never seen them. or the DSD for that matter.

in fact, Tyria is mostly oblivious to the DSD’s existence. it seems like the only that know about it are the quaggans, the largos, and the order of whispers (and even then, you only find out they know by talking to the masters of whispers as a whispers agent during the party at the end of the personal story).

so i doubt it’s about bubbles.

The wiki mentions that it has the power to create tentacled monsters:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Deep_sea_dragon

Unfortunately, it’s not sourced. Does anyone know why this is in the GW2 wiki or if there is a source? This would not be the first time a wiki has been wrong, so IDK.

the wiki is user edited.

not long ago, this forum was speculating on what exactly does the DSD do. someone suggested tentacled minions.

the fact that the post mentions “it lives in the deep sea” and “creates tentacled minions from lakes and rivers” in the same breath shows that there is definitely something wrong with it. hell, it didn’t even get the subject alpha’s skill right.

the lack of source only makes it worse.

The only thing we have to point to it making tentacled minions is an early concept art of a massive tentacle coming out of a body of water at some adventurers.

It could also be completely unconnected. There’s another of those signs that warns of “flesh eating swarms” which sound an awful lot like the scarab plague that decimated Elona.

That plague was a completely natural event, and it is possible that not everything is directly connected to the rise of the elder dragons. It could also be as simple as these creatures being driven toward tyria for the same reason the Quaggan were.

Its important to remember that while the dragons are an impressive force of nature, they’re actually directly and willfully responsible for very few things outside their own claimed domains.

Actually, from what I remember the scarab plague was more of an “alien” moment where the eggs were inside of people and ate their way out.
