Lore Based Dynamic Event chains?
GW2 events tend to show the current game world, skritt are stealing from harpies, the dredge fighting the Priory, and so on. In some ways this is the lore of GW2. You don’t have pages of text telling you the history of the minor races, you just get shown how the dragon minions are creating havoc for the minor races all across Tyria.
Orr has many events that give additional lore beyond the personal story. Other than that there seems to be bits of lore scattered all over each zone.
Indeed, the events are mostly just battle, or escort. There is this event in Lornars Pass i think (many Priory and thus more lore-oriented events are there and on Dredgehaunt Cliffs) where you escort a scholar to a dwarven tomb where she does find something truly interesting…. alas she doesnt say anything about what it was even as you finish the event and see her back in the camp afterwards. That was disappointing, but a pretty good tell about how much lore i can expect from the actual events in the game…

Very much this. Dynamic events are great at representing the world as is but not so good as presenting much in the way of narrative or lore. So we get a ‘feel’ for the world, for the people and how they get along together, but we don’t get much in the way of narrative or history.

I think the issue here is that none of us are you. None of us can define interesting for you. Every single event in the game touches on or contributes to the lore in some small way, and which you find interesting and which you find tedious is entirely a matter of taste. If you like text dumps, there are events for you. If you like quirky dialogues, there are events for you. If you like really clear and/or compelling reasons to be killing what you are, there are events for you. If you like any events with giants because they’re events with giants (can’t be just me, right?), there is Harathi, Kessex, Diessa, and Brisban for you. If you can’t no-life grind giants forever and want something small by contrast, there are events for that too (though I recommend steering clear of the shrunk progeny in Metrica- as far from a giant as you can get, sure, but oh so aggravating). Narrow it down for us and we’ll be able to give you advice.
I guess i mean unique events that stick out in your mind. I’m just looking to try some events out that other people found interesting and the only lists I can find are the most rewarding or the ones that get you the best stuff. I am just looking for a list of interesting chains to play for fun.
The only one in the open world that sticks out for me is the Dwayna temple chain on Malchors Leap. It has the most lore talked about in game by the scholar NPC and Malchor as well. The second is Grenth temple chain, but its much less. On a scale of 1-10 where 10 is Dwayna temple, Grenth is like 2. All the rest, sadly, are 1.
Personal story missions have much more lore than the open world, especially in the Priory missions (from recruitment to the Orders to the end in Orr).
