Q:
Lore: Jade Fractals boss?
A:
It’s a kraken. They were common in the Jade Sea in GW1 – though the appearance has been changed (in GW1, they used typical Phantom/Grasping Darkness models, which were ethereal flying squid-like things). Kraken are also known to live in the Unending Ocean.
Given that krakens are likely typical wildlife, I don’t think it’d be pulling any strings.

We need a Convocation fractal so we can go smack Zhu Hanuku up with the Spear of Archemorus.

i doubt that will happen, for some reason some people decided a fractal on a reactor meltdown wold be more interesting than a war between the gods
Kiel Replacement Movement
I don’t think most people voted based on Fractal… I know I didn’t, since I found both to have equally potentially grand and potentially pathetic possibilities (come on, do you really think they’d do a good job of it? Hell, with their current moto, we’d end up fighting alongside 5 midgets with supped up airships and other tech stuff that was mistaken as “grandiose magic” against someone our height in a bionic toga).
Though personally I’m kind of glad for the reduced waypoint costs during the initial scarlet invasions…. that would have cost a fortune to get all those achievements.

Not that the earliest of Scarlet’s invasions didn’t pay back, lol.
Though without that wp reducion, I wonder if they’d be worth doing except for the slim chance of the new exotics…
But I digress, point was that Fractal is unlikely why people voted for Kiel rather than Evon.

I personally made about 4-7 gold a run, and that’s taking out waypointing… Still yeah back on topic.
Might be related to Mursaat’s Jade Armors.

More likely related to the Jade Sea, seeing as the whole fractal is almost identical to zones within that instance in GW1. Almost more identical than any other comparison we find from GW2.
Although, one thing I have to mention, In the expansion, War in Kryta, there were new Jade Armors that used a green, rather than deep purple/red skin. I have to wonder if the Mursaat didn’t have to find other materials in order to create their armies or what, but in general the color of the skin is fairly similar to the color of the jade from the Jade Sea.
The Solid Oceanic Fractal is even said to have “once been water.”
Update notes outright state the thing is a kraken.
Regarding the green jade constructs – go revisit Riverside Province at the Temple of the Unseen. There were some green jade construct “statues” there. I always figured the new Jade Cloaks to come from there.
