I haven’t finished the story yet, but I know from one of the betas on my sylvari story that we found out that there were more sylvari cities/trees out there, but were not born with the dream, so they had to learn being taught and raised like normal races. This was good and bad because the hero cathie and the other sylvari discuss and state we need to recruit them before the nightmare court get a hold of them because they are easy targets and have no dream to protect them.

I’m not surprised at all because in GW1 it was never stated that there was only one seed. It just so happen that the pale tree for us players is “different” because they dream, their firstborn dreamed too, and they have Ronan and Veltari and his tablets to guide them.

More or less, the PC pale tree is “more matured” or “more organized” and probably more knowledgeable as well. While the other pale trees have to learn from scratch, as if regular babies and children – and that will be very hard for them.

But I don’t like the idea of these other pale trees being recruited. Let them have their freedom. Let them go back to their own pale tree and discuss amongst themselves and decide for their pale tree alone.

If they want to ally with the PC pale tree, then good. If they want to stay neutral, then good luck. If they want to join the enemies, then see you in the battlefields.

I still cant help but think that the Sylvari have some connection to the Wardens from Factions. It could be these trees have been around in hidden areas for a long time. Hell Urgoz may have been an avatar/embodiment in the same way the Pale Tree has.

I think it would be interesting that these other “Pale Trees” could act almost like… nations, for Humans. With their own goals, wants, needs.

Maybe they even do have their own version of the “Dream”, but it manifests differently. Maybe the Sylvari from the other Trees are all guided by a giant talking flower. Or maybe they can all speak to dogs.

I’m just being silly, but there are other ways that they could be guided/share information than the Dream like ‘our’ Sylvari do.

Well, the Pale Tree the player is from seems to have an affinity for Fern Hounds, perhaps each tree could have an affinity for different kinds of plant creatures. A tree that has an affinity to glider type creatures, another with an affinity to some kind of water plant. That sort of thing (p.s. this is just a theory). It could also be neat to see the trees brought out more as Sylvari “nations” as Illushia said. Might be interesting for the Nightmare Court to have their own tree and get slightly more political with their ideals (essentialy going from warfare to political intrigue).

We could even have Sylvari who look relatively different based on the enviroment much like how the Hearts(mossheart, oakheart, exc exc.) seem to change based on the kind of trees that grow where they are found.

That would be really interesting.

And imagine if the Nightmare Court found and corrupted a tree. They could rise from “Dangerous annoyance” to ‘world-threatening superpower’ nearly overnight.

my running guess is that the druids that you find in guild wars 1 are the actual first sylvari.

They are probably aware already and doing something about it. But due to technical reasons, we can not follow-up on that branch of the story about a second pale tree in existence.

So far, correct me if I’m wrong, the official revelation is that there is a second pale tree west of the asuran/sylvari lands. We don’t have information if there is a third, a fourth, a fifth pale tree. Correct?

We only know of one. But if there’s two…

They’re like coocarachas. Where there’s two? There’s 500.

That is correct but I think its assumed that because the cave that the tree came from (had many seeds) that there is more then just the two trees.

We have -two- threads on this already. One in these forums, and one in the Sylvari forums.

Can we contain it to two threads? Please?

The idea is bad enough, it really doesn’t need to spread.

I actually have to disagree here. The druids were actually Krytans that moved into the Maguuma Jungle and became one with nature, eventually shedding their physical form, at least this was the lore given to us in GW1.
