Was it ever explained how the Pact entered LA to kill Scarlet, when it was full of Miasma gas?
The Pact do not have to escape from the city anymore. So obviously they found a solution.
I cant remember where but I remember a passing comment that the prevailing wind direction had shifted and was now blowing the miasma out to sea whenever they tried to deploy it. That basically gave us a window of opportunity while their weapon was rendered weak to counter attack and take them out.
Lore wise you could argue that’s why we see Alliance leaders on the battlefield now since they are having to resort to a conventional fight against the Lionguard and the Orders. One of Scarlet’s comments on the Breachmaker during the Holo fight indicates that they are getting pressed.
I think it was on the patch notes/update page. But yeah, basically the reason is that all the miasma has been blown out to sea, so now we can move
Scarlet’s armies have razed Lion’s Arch and occupy the smoldering husk of the proud port city – but she has not won yet! With the noxious miasma dissipating, heroes and friends of Lion’s Arch can mount an assault to re-take the city and fight Scarlet herself. Free the city and put a stop to Scarlet’s machinations!

So the miasma gas got blown out to sea? But I thought the gas can be redeployed by those canisters. I mean the wind is always blowing. The only way to keep the miasma gas going is by deploying new canisters.
Unless Scarlet “ran out of gas” just before she can finish the drilling. >_>

But in this map, there are still miasma canisters, and even miasma deploying events. So there are two options: either Scarlet somehow failed to account for the existence of wind entirely, or she gave it up as something she couldn’t control and only meant for the miasma to do what it did: clear the drill site (or city, if you prefer) of hostiles so that her troops could secure it. Given how close a thing it ended up being, I could see her betting that she could hit the junction before we overwhelmed her defenses and reached her.
Scarlet’s plan was foiled by an incredibly rare weather phenomenon known as “coastal winds”. The genius that forged several unlikely alliances, created several revolutionary new technologies, aced several shools of study and woke an Elder Dragon didn’t account for an everyday occurrence in Lion’s Arch.
Honestly I just see it as another plot convenience. The hour cycles of Lion’s Arch were a pita and the gameplay provided by the miasma was getting old and would have been intrusive for this update.
I don’t think Scarlet was interested in long-term miasma use (given her own alliances’ health and all), but that it was to be used to force everyone out of the city and kill any first resistance.
We still see the miasma deployment events. She’s still using it, it’s just suddenly less effective despite the allied forces not doing anything differently. Regardless of what she thought, she was wrong. If the miasma was working the same now as it was last week she probably would have succeeded.

It’s called “suspension of disbelieve”.
If you start to over think a game like GW2 it all falls to the ground.
That being said, going in every hour was just a game mechanic.
Remember on the first Halloween when the lion statue was blown? Well if you were in game you were a lucky man, I as long with most of the player base wasn’t and there for missed it.
Anet as (rightfully) moved from these one time events.
Although they still exist in “lore” like this miasma one.
Basically what happened as far as lore is concerned was she came in, started to attack, we went there to stop it and rescue people, the gas was deployed and we had to get out, wind blows it away, go back in and finish the fight.
The hourly event is just a game mechanic so everyone can enjoy it.
