Seriously, we need one. Are the devs considering this? I really want to read more about certain enemies, like Subject Alpha and Lupicus.

It was greatly done. Vast amount of info ranging from biology to just random tidbits about the monster in question. Doing this might expand the lore of several places, objects and people.

They previously had Creature Codex items that were skill points, but they were removed for some reason. They acted more or less like you want (more information on types of enemies), and had their own place in the bank.
Would love to see a lore encyclopedia – not just monsters, but places, things, and events too. So I really do hope that they re-add the Creature Codexes, or something like it, and expand it to much more of the lore.

Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
