Anyone else want more info on the Ancient Norn and Joten races, or am I alone? I would prefer a back in time mist recreation of these ancient supposed empires for a in game explanation. Something that would make sense with lore and not just thrown in there. Did the ancient Jotens ever wore armor at one time or were they always loincloth wearing barbarians. How big were there settlements, big, or small? What about the Norn what were they like before they needed the spirits or have they always relied on them for supernatural support when things got tough.

Well I would guess we will be digging deeper into Norn and Jotun (and Kodan) histories when we get to explore the Far Shiverpeaks and encounter Jormag.

It’ll probably be at least a few years before that, though.

The norn personal story tells that Jotuns once were a powerful and civilized race which destroyed itself in a civil war. Another source in game tells that the elder dragon hunted the Jotun and Norn. While the Norn got their spirits (and support from them) to fight against the dragon, the Jotun didn’t and had to face the dragons as they were. They were very intelligent and powerful, but all is lost including tradition (like Throuln the lost is probably the last storyteller of their race).

Slow clap for the great puppet player.

Yeah but in the flashback they’re still loincloth wearing and covered in body paint. Probably ANet didn’t feel like making unique armoured Jotun models just for a single personal story instance.

Yeah that’s sad. The imagination that they used to be bigger and not just blueish, whilst the ground was shaking with every step (applying for Norn too) is quite impressive.

Slow clap for the great puppet player.

Likely is laziness since NPCs says motifs depict them as better looking, and there is the Stargazer and a few ancient ghost jotun in Dredgehaunt Cliffs for two skill challenges. Enough to merit a single model I think. But nope.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
