Most/Least favorite Lesser race?
My least favourite are the Quaggan just because I feel like they’re out of place and were put in game as a joke race.
I’m not fond of the Hylek either, but only because of how GW2 presents them – they were more compelling for me in GW1.
And I’m still super annoyed at the Grawl having reasonable english and american accents…
My favorite is the skritt, hands down. My least favorite… probably the ettins. There’s just something very unsettling about a race whose defining feature is a hereditary congenital disorder.
OP, edit topic to “Lesser Race”.
Now, my favourite NPC races would be both Tengu and Grawl. Grawl because they have awesome models in GW2.
Least favourite lesser race… Probably skritt, remind me of currently playable rat race. And quaggan maybe. I believe ANet tried to make a similar iconic race to Murlocs, but failed it in my eyes. On the paper, this race could be very good. Peaceful normally, dangerous and big when kittened off. But there’s too much cute&cuddle and almost no claw at all.

I don’t see how Quaggan are similar to Murlocs, as Murlocs are almost 100% of the time hostile….
Favorites: Skritt, Hyleck and Dredge.
Least favorites: Quaggan… ugg!
Quaggan is favorite, quaggan is cuuutteee OooOoohh.
Least favourite; Quaggans!
For all the reasons give above by everyone else and just added as a cutesy clutter factor which this game would’ve been much better without.

The Dredge, the Hylek, the Jotun and the Orges are the lesser races that are most likely to provide useful support going forward. The others are curiosities that have limited plot uses beyond festive content maybe – these include the Quaggans and the Skritt.
The races that to me seem completely useless are the Ettins and the Grawl.
PS: Kodan, Largos, Tengu and yet to be written races seem to be likely to be playable thus not included in this discussion.
From most to least favourite:
Skritt → Quaggan → Grawl → Hylek → Ogres
I thought I’d like the ogres more than I do, but that was before I actually did their Racial Sympathy story and learned they train their pets by essentially abusing them until they’re too terrified of the ogres to disobey. (I actually worked this into my Norn Ranger’s RP story; she was always fascinated by the Ogre’s legendary mastery over animals, but when she discovered the truth, she was repulsed.)
My least favourite would be quggans, as was explained well by others. They don’t fit the tone of a world I’d like to explore, they are like the Jar Jar Binks of Tyria.
My favourite would have to be tengu. It feels weird even calling them a lesser race – from what I’ve seen, they have enough meaty lore to be a playable race, they have a very relevant history in GW1 (especially the Canthan tengu), they seem to be more intelligent and complex than the lesser races (hylek would probably be the most advanced lesser race if you discount skritt in large numbers and hylek still come across as fairly primitive) and I’d really like to play one and explore the Dominion of Winds, how their culture has evolved over the last 250 years, the (hopefully) Canthan aesthetics as they brought them with them and the ethos that was explored in GW1.
Assuming the tengu don’t count as a lesser race, I’d have to go with jotun. While the grawl are entertaining and have a cool aesthetic, the jotun have a very interesting lore, going back to ancient times and their almost apathetic role in the world now betrays the importance they played in the past.
I absolutely LOVE Quaggans <3. I would so play one! CooOOooOO! ^^
Least favourite ‘lesser’ race (but still awesome!) would be the Ogres I think. They are slightly less awesome than the Jotun, Grawl, Hylek, Skritt, etc, etc.
Quaggan master race. I would throw money at my computer screen if I could play as a quaggan.
It seems you either love them or hate them with no in between.
I don’t see why everyone loves quaggans….. for real a norn or charr could just pick one up and throw it so far it would be dead on impact from the throw…..They are hardly any use cause they HATE to go rage mode to defend themselves. Seems they are useless in this world of constant danger and fighting.

Quaggans can be adorable as much as they can be annoying.

Quaggans are just like hobbits. They wanna be left alone and leave the world alone, yet are forced out of their comfort zones.
Do note there is a village of Quaggans on the shores of Orr, WHO PURPOSEFULLY STAY THERE. To guide refugees streaming in from the deep waters to safer areas north. They don’t have to stay there in the hostile, poisoned waters, yet they choose to. Just like some villages in Frostgorge choose to stay there and fight/defend their land.
I would enjoy quaggan more if they sounded more like actual whales. They are incredibly interesting until they open their frikkken mouth and start talking. Worst voice over in the history of racial voice overs.
Still i cant get over their lovable appearance. I’d just tape their mouth shut and leave it at that though.
My least favorite is skritt, because they annoy me, and don’t interest me.
