Interesting points:

  • Season 2 ending is fixed
  • Mr. E will be revealed at the end
  • We will have to wait to see what the fate of LA will be

If the ending of the season is fixed, it will be probably be capped off with a big event like this season was. Though, I’m not sure what exactly could be as a big event (lore-wise) like an awakening of an Elder Dragon.

…Elder Dragon attacking a major city maybe? Who knows.

I guess that’s the issue when you’re continuously trying to top your last big thing.
To quote Zero Punctuation: “what do you do after you threaten to destroy every living thing in the galaxy? Threaten to destroy every living thing and also there cat?”

They could also go with a return of an old character as a big event/cliffhanger. I know the return of Livia would excite the playerbase (for the gw1 players anyway) as much as the awakening of Mordremoth did.

Personally I had hoped they were bold enough to turn LA into a level 80 zone full of mordremoth’s minions and give us something to do until season 2 begins.

Sadly at the moment, it just looks like they’ll rebuild it.

The town clothes thing. I want it to be true, should’ve been true since day one.

No, No, No! Mummified flesh on the left! Dried bones on the right!

Death of an Elder Dragon. Success of an Elder Dragon (utter defeat of the Pact leading to massive retaliation for the assault?). Caudecus ousting Queen Jennah and turning Divinity’s Reach into a human-only zone. Return of Lazarus. Canthan ships sailing into the Sea of Sorrows. The DSD or its minions arrive on the shores. Abaddon’s Mouth erupts, opening the Door of Komalie and access into the gods’ realms. Kralkatorrik returns creating a second Dragonbrand.

These are all big things that done right can be as or more epic as Mordremoth’s awakening. Which… Wasn’t too epic honestly.

You don’t have to go bigger. That’s something people tend to misconcieve. What you have to do is match it or go into a new field.

Using your quote example: instead of destroying the galaxy which was done, you go with something less physical and more psychological or into some other field. It’s one thing to kill a world consuming entity of no morals, and another to prevent a politician from creating a massive civil war. And both can be epic.

The act doesn’t have to be epic. How it is done has to be.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I love that thought, Konig. “Ellen Kiel takes over Tyria!” That sounds epic. XD

I am rather sure Konig referred to Caudecus with that line actually ^^
Which seems like a much more logical thread (C have been trying to overthrow Jennah since release).

Krall Bloodsword – Mesmer
Krall Peterson – Warrior

In that specific line my mind wasn’t thinking of anything particular. But if I were to relate it to GW there are multiple possibilities:

  • Caudecus causing a human civil war utilizing the bandits and separatists.
  • Evon causing a economical (read: not outright combative) internal conflict with LA.
  • Bangar Ruinbringer siding with the Renegades and causing a schism amongst the three legions.
  • Flixx finally taking a drive to make asura the top dog in his lifetime.

The main point in it is to make the enemy a figure one can understand whereas the Elder Dragons are not. That if you were in slightly different shoes – or they had an oh so different stance/agenda – then you wouldn’t want to fight the figure but join him. Or heck, even allowing a chance to join the figure, it creates a great chance for player interaction.
