Guild Wars 2

So, I missed a huge chunk of Season 1 of the story, and I’ve never done most of the dungeons at all beyond story mode, let alone have seen all the paths.

I’ve always been casually interested in the lore, but I’m interested in really digging deeper. So that brings me to:

1) So I’m not retreading theories that have already been proven/disproven — or to see the hotly debated ones where there’s no consensus — I’d love suggestions on threads I should read.

2) Would anybody out there be willing to do dungeon runs where we aren’t skipping cutscenes and where a little dawdling is OK? I’ve read up on the strategies for the dungeons at least, and I’ve actually done a little glass-cannoning if people want to try to keep the fight part efficient.

Disclaimer: Only recently returned, my ele is wearing exotic, not ascended gear. And since I’m only reading about the fights beforehand, you would most definitely have to do some rezzing from time to time if I go glass cannon :B

But the one of the original idea (Jelle) that was recording everything suddenly stopped logging in. We worked up until Honor of the Waves (story) and planned to do explorable paths after finishing CoE and Arah.

We could revive the idea and continue with explorables.

Don’t worry about ascended gear, it matters not. I wear exotics as well and haven’t touched most of those dungeons in at least a year. :p

Anyways, I would love to revive this! I could do weekends possibly, but it would have to be morning EST or like 12:45-1 a.m. EST. Otherwise I’m off Tues-Wed. I know this is a little inconvenient, but it’s the life of a newspaper designer/copy editor My hours are just weird.

My hours are as weird as yours as an independant translator, so I get you. :P

Weekends are good, I got off… well, anytime really, unless I’m on classes. But today’s my last day of that for a month. We used to do this on saturday/sunday morning (10AM server time) so everyone could come.

I’ll reach out to the guys and let them know of this thread. Maybe we could organize to record it, too.

My computer doesn’t have the slightest chance of being able to handle recording, but I’m certainly down to come along. I’d need a little advanced notice, but I should be able to flex my schedule to handle just about anything that isn’t the dead of night.

I could handle recording (have Fraps and a good rig) but I wouldn’t have the slightest idea of what to do with the footage afterward, lol.

I’d like to expand to Fractals as well, if people are game. Never done any of those either, pretty much lived in WvW before.

As for times, I can be flexible, though at 10 a.m. server time I’ll probably be a little sleepy lol.

Me neither, actually. The idea was to put it in the wiki, but too much work and most of it is lost now anyway. I’m happy enough with listening to the stuff and reading.

Fractals were on the plan as well.

Myself and a friend of mine (therapite.3645) used to run with the last group that did this when we could. I’m having a few issues with my computer but hopefully those should be fixed tonight.

So if a run is going on and you need two more, and we’re online, by all means hit us up. We’d be happy to run along We’re usually available evenings and weekends, and can be free with advanced notice.

I would also be interested in joining you, if you have room for another person. I have some experience of some of the dungeons, but learned quickly to stop cutscenes dead, after the first couple of times that I came out of one to find myself abandoned by the rest of the party. I have exotic gear, though a couple of my characters have some Ascended weapons.

Gear really isn’t an issue, not in this game. As long as you aren’t still wearing something from level 70 or so, it really makes much less of a difference than traits, skills, simply knowing your class, and FPS.

The more, the better! I should be free this weekend actually, so if you all can, we can organize it.

Therapite and I are available this weekend. We aren’t usually on until the evenings normally, but if we know a time to be on during the day, we can be there. Saturday is the better day of the weekend for us, but Sunday evening is also alright (after reset).

Well, I have to leave for work by 4 p.m. EST. I also like to take the dog for a run/shower before that so ideally I’d want to wrap up by around 2:30 p.m. EST.

Alternatively, I can be online after around 12:45 a.m. If that’s too late, let me know a time during the mornings and I’ll be there.

Well, Thera just told me she has to be at a party at 1. If it can be wrapped up by then, she can go. If not, it’ll just be me available for tagging along if we’re doing a story mode, and I can pretty much be around whenever. I don’t have anywhere to be the whole day.

I can’t usually start a dungeon at 12:45am though, unless you want a somewhat silly, sleepy, and generally uncoordinated person with you :P

Haha I understand if you don’t wanna do it late, though sleepy is fine if that’s what you wanna do.

Um … how bout we shoot for about 10-10:30 a.m. EST on Saturday then? Be actually ready to roll by 10:30? That way I can drink coffee at 10 while getting gear/group together and then hopefully by 10:30 I’ll be somewhat coherent :B

Yeah sorry, I’m technically in EDT now so … yes, 2 p.m. server time, assuming server time is Greenwich Mean Time like I think it is.

I will hop on at 10 a.m. under the assumption this is a go. If not, no harm no foul.

Well we did a Caudecus Manor run since we had some dungeon noobs (coughMEcough) and a lot of us had done nothing in there.

Fun times! Plan is same time next week, around 10-10:30 a.m. EDT (which I think is 2-2:30 server time).

Couldn’t make it between the World Cup and work. Next time it’ll be. What did you guys do?
