Hello guys!
I was wondering if I’m still a member of my order after forging the Pact.
My main character was from Order of Whisperer and I was wondering if we will have more “quests” from our old-order.
I know now we are a member of this new group after HoT, but that doesn’t mean we leave our old order.
Am I right?
Sorry for this dumb/noob question lol

No. The main character left their order to become an impartial unit within the pact able to make impartial decisions. After LS1 the player decided to parttime this function, no longer directly supporting Trahearne, and reviving Destiny’s Edge officially as a guild directly supporting the Pact, focussing more on the research and learning about dragons’ weaknesses. After HoT (see LS3,ch2.) the player officially exited their office as pact commander to lead the new guild Dragon’s Watch.

But I get your confusion, without LS1 most players lack a clear knowledge of what happened to the PC between the Pact and Destinys Edge. There is a rather extreme contrast in the role of the PC between the PS and LS2 which is no resting in development hell.

This isn’t true. If you joined the Priory, Ela Makkay recognised your status during Hidden Arcana. I think the player character rose to a high enough rank that we won’t be sent out on missions, but if we wanted to call on their resources for some reason, we could. This may come up if either the Vigil or the Order or Whispers plays a major role in a future chapter. (I don’t think Almorra is enough, especially as she was more a Pact ambassador than the leader of the Vigil.)

After HoT (see LS3,ch2.) the player officially exited their office as pact commander to lead the new guild Dragon’s Watch.

Chapter 1, not 2.

They actually didn’t leave their order, however, they did effectively distance themselves from it, just as charr do to their legion.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Ah yea, sorry, that was ch1.
As for the order, I think I mightve been confused, then. Because in my experience the player was quite clear on becoming impartial with the orders during the PS. But I suppose the player moves from being an order representative to an honors’ member. I’m not quite sure what happens to the players status but I always interpreted that conversation as ‘leaving the order, but staying friends’

I think the part that got you confused is the comment that the Pact leader shouldn’t have ties to any of the three Orders, which is why the main character becomes second in command, not first – it would be showing favouritism. None of the Order members ever leave their order, they merely get reassigned to the Pact and fight on the front lines. Trahearne was never a member of any of the three Orders, so he becomes the leader. All the NPCs that respond to Order of Whispers, Vigil or Durmand Priory members will still respond the same way after joining the Pact.

You might be thinking of the conversation when Trahearne is appointed leader of the pact – it is explicitly stated then that the leader should have never been a member of any of the orders so that they can be seen as impartial.

Thanks for clearing that, you and the previous guy. I always translated that message as ‘to help trahearne I also leave my order’. for 4 years I’ve been living in a lie! What am I supposed to believe now!? What is even real anymore!?

If you joined Whispers, the little bonus dialogues with other hidden Whispers agents never go away, so you’re always in your order. It’s just literally insignificant in the main story after level 70 or so, same as Charr warbands or Asura colleges are after level 20.
