NPC talking about six dragons
She’s been around since the beginning. She is a member of the Durmand Priory (actually a Whispers Spy keeping tabs on the Priory) and they have a story from the Jotun talking about “6 swallowers.” It is because of this that people have thought about the 6th dragon for a while.
As Narcemus said, she’s been there since the beginning and it’s been well known for a long time. The Priory knows of six Elder Dragons thanks to jotun records, with creation myths referring to the world living in cycles featuring a sextant of “swallowers” (aka six Elder Dragons), among other references to them.
But the Priory, Inquest, Whispers, and later the Pact, seems to be the only ones knowing about the six Elder Dragons – though it seems that the Order of Whispers, at least as of Zhaitan’s defeat, does not think there are five remaining to face (the Master of Whispers makes mention of one fifth of the overarching goal being complete). Even Destiny’s Edge doesn’t know about the fifth or sixth, based on Eir’s words after Zhaitan (“who’s next – Primordus, Jormag, or Kralkatorrik?” paraphrased).
But as said, it’s not been a theory of a sixth Elder Dragon for a much longer time than we discovered the name Mordremoth.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Is there a connection between the six elder dragons and the six human gods (who are now mysteriously “silent”)?
No. There’s no connection – any kind of connection has been debunked in game, though most choose to ignore it for their own personal “theories.”

NOOOOOOOoooooooooo………..
Sorry I just had to
can we be sure that one of the 6 starting dragons did not die meaning that there where 5 left when we begin our story and only 4 now that zhietan is dead?
because if we can kill zhietan could another groupe not have killed another dragon also?

That is one theory, that the unknown 6th is already dead from the last battles, but it is honestly unknown.
maybe the 6th dragon took pity on the races of Tyria and split himself into other minor aspects which then became the gods? (I just blew your minds), maybe he has a link to arachnia and abaddons predecessor?

Except we know that a god and a dragon are on par. Should a single dragon have split itself up into 6 deities, then a single god should be weak compared to a single dragon. That said, dragon magic and the divine magic act very differently, especially in the sense that dragon magic just appears to end with the death of the dragon, as opposed to breaking out and threatening to rip up the fabric of the universe on death.
Not to mention that dragon magic in of itself is just “any other kind of magic that was altered to the dragon’s liking and spreads its influence and corruption” – whereas divine seems to be eternal and makes the god very very bright (lighting wise).
