I’ve a suspicion now that the new character team in the storyline is going to have members of each profession rather than the 5 races of Destiny’s Edge. This would allow for more flexibility about which characters lead each chapter of the living story and they don’t all need to be there all the time. This format immediately creates a role for Canach but also for a thief. There is one person mentioned in the story so far who could be that thief and that person is Mr E.

We’d also be short an elementalist, but I don’t think it’ll happen. Anet seems to have figured out the pitfalls of structuring their team around positions rather than characters. I’d be surprised if it expanded beyond the five we have now, with the possible exception of Canach.
