New races and Destiny's Edge
Mm. I think we should invoke the Sixth Ranger Clause here. Have the new race be represented by a decently awesome champion who occasionally interacts with Destiny’s Edge, but isn’t officially a part of it.
And a man who trusts no one is a fool.
We are all fools, if we live long enough.”
‘Sixth ranger clause’?
but yeah, for example Largos might have Sayeh Al’Rajihd or however you spell her name, because she’s a prominent member of the PS. Her profession might conflict with Caithe, not sure.
Kodans seem rather chummy with Eir.
There’s one loading screen for one Norn area where they’re hugging or something.
Do you even lift, bro?
Well there is concept art of them running, weapons drawn towards something. But it’s a rather old piece, the Kodan shown on the concept art is towering compared to Eir/that Norn lady that kind of looks like Eir.

That’s the one I ment
I guess “hugging” was overstating it, lol.

Actually the kodan isn’t really touching the norn in that picture. The hand is behind the norn and not visible. In the Manifesto trailer this is illustrated more clearly. What appears to be the kodan’s hand on the norn’s shoulder is really part of that norn woman’s armor.
I’ve always interpreted it as the Norn woman wanting to rush off to battle the dragon(s) that are attacking the village (or something) and the Kodan tries to hold her back because he doesn’t want her to do something stupid and get killed by laying his hand on her shoulder.

Same here. Makes sense to me.

WarriorOfAsgard is right, though. If you look closer, the kodan isn’t actually touching her at all. It’s a nice thought, regardless, that the two races would fight together. Right now, it seems like there’s a bit of friction there. The kodan seem to consider the norn to be inferior offshoots of themselves, while the norn seem to think the kodan were trapped in bear-form by Bear to teach them humility. Of course, as one norn NPC remarks, “Seems to be working great so far.”
And a man who trusts no one is a fool.

That might not have even been intended to be a Kodan in that picture. The piece was made early in development and could be just a Norn woman and a Norn in their bear form. I read somewhere that the Kodan were a relatively new race in production as they made them later to fit concept art of the iceberg sanctuaries.
@OP: How I see such situations coming about is that there will be an iconic of the race added (of what seem to be the three most popular and, imo, most likely races, tengu and kodan are unknown for who can act as such, but for largos I’d bet Sayeh), and that after Zhaitan’s death they work a lot with Destiny’s Edge in taking out Jormag and other dragons/threats (or for Sayeh, “worthy prey” while also seeing the continued value of the Pact and Destiny’s Edge should they be helpful for the DSD which pushed the quaggan, krait, and largos out of the depths).
Issue is, I would expect a reason for any new members or close associates for Destiny’s Edge – a case for kodan is obvious with Jormag, but tengu are not so and I expect it to be a while until the DSD becomes an open threat.
Furthermore, if there are more races to be added, be it as playable or as new Destiny’s Edge members, I wouldn’t doubt that there would only be three: so that there’d be a 1 race to 1 profession ratio in Destiny’s Edge. In which the future three races to DE would include mesmer, engineer, and necromancer. Which would kick out any known largos.
Of course, this is all 100% speculation.
@Mystic Starfish: I think Elias is referring to the Power Rangers – in the first version, the Green (later White) ranger doesn’t always work with the other five. But I may be waaaay off base here.
@Elias: The kodan view of norn in general is that they’re lacking balance, not that they’re inferior offshoots of themselves. In fact, I’ve only seen such brought up in the blog post – never in-game. Though at Song of Final Exile, there are kodan who look down on norn, but this isn’t due to them being “inferior offshoots” but just because they’re such noisy neighbors (not literally – but noisiness does seem to be part of it).

I read a comment that the Largos might be Anet’s way to highlight the underwater zones. To me that would make sense going off of a quote “We didn’t want the undersea zones to feel like a secondary experience compared to the land zones, so you’ll experience the full—ahem—depth of Guild Wars 2 content underwater.” -Jonathan Sharp.
The Largos, while we don’t know a lot about them yet, seem to be like they would have the best chance to be an underwater race should Anet add one. The other underwater races (Quaggen and Krait) have problems that would make it difficult making them a playable race.
The Largos while we know they take pride in killing , don’t randomly kill (that have been seen). They look for skilled challenges and are bound by “Great Houses” and the “Concordat of the Tethyos Houses”. Largos also have strong values of debt and have been seen to go out of their way to protect those whom they owe a debt to. While they remain to be unknown (Like the Asura before they were pushed out of their homes) the Largos may need to ally with the other races and would seemingly be in debt to the other races when Bubbles is able to be defeated(being they were pushed out of their homes (guessing by Bubbles).
The only real question now would be can they live on land with out being near the water? I can compare the Humans being able to breath underwater not having to worry about breathing. I suspect that if Largos were to be playable it would be within reasonable assumption for game play reasons they would be just fine with some minor adjustments. The models we see now all 9 of them seem to place holders and do not look polished as they could be, meaning if they are to do anything else with them they would need to put some more work on them anyway.

Add to Destiny’s Edge!? I was kind of hoping they’d subtract from Destiny’s Edge. I’m thinking the removal of about five members would be just about perfect.
And all that’s left is Trahearne? Careful what you wish for

I hear that. I’d rather that the Destiny’s Edge members totally replace Trahearne instead of them being removed!

So since there’s seven members (Mr. Sparkles and Garm count as members, imo, and Garm was considered a member by Lion’s Arch’s arena folks), which two remain?
The (hoes-before-)broskies (Logan and Rytlock)?
The grief sisters (Eir and Zojja)?
The strongest duo (Rytlock and Garm)?
The funniest ones (Logan and Mr. Sparkles – yes, a golem has more humor than a charr, and yes, Logan makes good jokes periodically… (“isn’t Kudu a girl’s name?”) have you seen him troll the White Mantle?)?
Personally, I vote the last. I can deal with Logan’s sappiness if he makes more jokes. His are better than Rytlock’s.
