[News] New secret tomorrow!
I’d suggest keeping an eye on massively.joystiq.com as well. They tend to know things…
But yeah, sounds interesting. Will be interesting to see if anything actually does happen. It would make sense if they’re just trying to introduce a way of bringing people up to date on the story in preparation for the final arc.
Yeah I saw that on reddit, interesting!
So a few more hours… lets wait and see. Although up until this point ANet has been extremely shy about releasing information. The last two Living World updated only had information released after the content went live.
Anyone want to take a guess on what the secret may be? My personal guess is that it’s related to Mordremoth. If Mordy is related to the finale, they might put out some hints about him soon. Because if you aren’t a frequent visitor to the forums, you might not know anything really about him/it.
Well… Suspected ties possibly relating to said Elder Dragon.
Well the whole Elder Dragon thing is partly born from a few scattered clues (mostly Scarlet’s hidden lab), and players’ deep desire to have to have more Elder Dragons to fight. Of course that in turn might be users desire to see new areas, after all if the next dragon is Jormag, we get to go north, see more of the Shiverpeaks, Primordus we go underground, Kralkatorrik we get to go to the Crystal Desert, Mordremoth we get to see some more of the Maguuma Jungle (probably).
Well, it’s now 3 PM in Germany…I went to GW2.com and found this
Has that been there, or is it new?

That’s the new thing.

Only amazing with the current release stuff. Why a note on the Scarlet invasions in the Dragonbrand? >.> And a random concept art of Caithe in mid-Caledon for… no reason?
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Well the pics do have captions (well at least the dragonbrand one does, didn’t check the Caithe one). Wasn’t there invasion events in Fields of Ruin?
And the map contains stuff as far back as the recap page thing they did (and some lost shores stuff). If you use the arrow when you expand the items discovered thing, you can go through previous releases stuff (which some, didn’t check all, have points on the map).
Please give us a keyring…
There were invasion events, but that seems so far out of the way for an “Aetherblades invaded throughout Tyria on Scarlet’s orders” (let’s completely ignore the Watchwork creatures and Molten Alliance’s joining in!).
And all previous release stuff have points on the map (kinda dislike how they bunched up The Lost Shores to Tower of Nightmares together…). Also dislike how it’s just the Living World stuff – forget the things meant ot be before the LW. This atlas has huge potential for an overall world database, not just some LW-only crap (excuse my hostility, but it feels downright stupid that they waste space on a no-captioned “Art by Jia Ruan” Caithe concept art – which is not the only one – rather than spending it on more hints, subliminal hints at that!, for future plot ideas, or on non-LW stuff).
Ranting said and done… I can’t seem to find point 7 for Battle for Lion’s Arch.

Specifically, the “Aetherblades invaded” note is placed just west of Helliot Mine. My mesmer eagerly ported out there, assuming some vital clue was to be had. But she only found the same thing she found when she mapped the area…a lot of Branded nasties.

yeah… very underwhelming… but i added my two cents about it allready in another thread.
It has potential, but not in its current form.
Right now it feels like another wacky marketing ploy of them to somehow “viral” get us to care about the next release.
However it`s design feels more tablet orientated, then browser…
Each info box has the name/logo of the living world update it was part of in the top left corner.
At any rate anyone find the last “hidden” thing? scouring LA plus the “hidden” coordinates from MMORPG unlocked all but one thing int he library. curious what I missed
I think the Atlas is quite cool. Though .. why are there Zephyr Sanctum images in Lion’s Arch? Seems not a misplacement, since I also saw different images from that event, at the actual place it was located. Mysterious!

Its kind of big this means that they will be giving us no more very open spoilers but they will give clues what could be happening. That and it shows us there a lot of room for new maps and we may be using this web pages to work out what will be added.

Likely because you went to Labyrinthine Cliffs from LA. Odd choice nonetheless though, given all the other LA focused things.
And you can tell how much favor goes into LA…

Not necessarily. On the first, the addition of the atlas really does nothing to reduce the spoiler-tastical showings that ArenaNet has done. Could, but not necessarily. On the second, it doesn’t expand the map at all compared to the in-game map. On the third, hopefully, but not in its current form.

It dose a great deal in fact it means you need to look for the spoilers if you want to and every one going to look at them different if they are just bit and parts. Now other players could say this means that etc.. but that not coming from Anet and the player can be wrong. This opens up a great deal more imagination to what going on next.
I was talking about updates to come this map will be used to show new things for both new maps and new content. Its a good way to get the players active in new content that is not been put out yet.

Snip.
With amazing I meant amazing potential. :P interactive maps are a great way to release hidden teasers and recap past events
