i am sure afew Sylvari died here and there. Why don’t we see any Sylvari Risen at some point?
Is it because they same as plants and it makes them out of the dragons power reach?
or just because… just because?
I think the pale tree’s magic protects them from being corrupted into risen, but I may be wildly off base here.

i think if the pale tree had that much power it would have used its power to fix the corruption all the elder dragons have made and force the Nightmare Court to disband and make more then one weapon.
but its still a really good thought though it might work only in Caledon Forest where its power is strong.
It’s a stated fact that the sylvari as a whole are immune to any dragon corruption (not just Zhaitan) . Rather than being corrupted, they simply die and stay dead.
What was said above. When injured to the point by corruption that other races would be turned, either into Risen, or Branded, or Icebrood or what have you, they simply wither and die.
They’re not immune to the corruption inasmuch as they can’t be harmed by it at all, but they cannot be turned and corrupted into dragon minions.
They just die before it can happen.

Fun fact: Late in the personal story...Calabog, a sword created from the bark of the Pale Tree, is required to cure the corruption of Orr.
The Pale Tree doesn’t make more than one weapon because of Calabog – it was powerful, but lost, and she didn’t know where it was for nearly 25 years. The Pale Tree is too kind to force anyone against their will, and doesn’t want to spread violence.
But as said by others, the sylvari are – for some reason – naturally immune to dragon corruption. Where others are corrupted, sylvari merely die.
can you tell me where the information is shown please?
“While the other races may be corrupted by the Elder Dragons, turned into undead minions or crystalline creatures of the Brand, the sylvari are never turned. Those born of the Pale Tree simply die before the corruption takes hold. Many sylvari believe that this is because they were born to battle the dragons, blessed with a certain protection against their most horrible powers. Some non-sylvari scholars state instead that the sylvari’s strange biology foils the corruption of the dragons. A few clever souls state that sylvari just taste bad to dragons. No one knows for certain which is the truth.”

It’s also mentioned in the sylvari storyline, level 22 vigil step. As well as various interviews and the like.
Dropping by to entice the flames of war with the rumor (guesses from other threads) that the pale tree is a dragon champion that turn on its master (Like Glint did) thus the Silvary would already be dragons minions and as such can’t be corrupted by other dragons.

Nope.
Also ANet doesn’t encourage trolling so you probably shouldn’t do that.

Huh? why would you think I’m trolling?
I like that theory, it was a really long thread about it and a strong argument was made for it, if you don’t like it its fine but acussing someone of trolling just because you don’t like their theory or you have a different opinion is not nice.

Seriously, why are you attacking my post? and why change my quote?
OP had a question. Many people are giving answers. I had an answer relevant to the OP and it has been discussed before in other threads. Not sure why this bothers you. If you do not like the theory its fine. I’m not forcing it on you or on the OP I just find it very cool if it turns out to be like that.
Hi,
We would like to ask to please, keep the thread civil and friendly and not jump to conclusions based on what users say. Any trolling attempt will be dealt with by the moderators.
Thanks and keep up the constructive posting.

I had remembered this but was unable to remember which portion of the story this had happened in, I only remembered that it was another of my many play through Sylvari and had wanted to point that out, but was unable to remember which =).
But basically in a nutshell for anyone who had not heard what they said (many had not), the vigil Sylvari told the “other people” (will not specify who based on spoilers) to stand back because the Sylvari cannot be corrupted.

Except that Glint was only free’d because of the forgotten, who were not around since the Pale Tree was planted. Therefore, IF the Pale Tree is a dragon champion – and it’s still a very loose tie at that – then it couldn’t have gained freedom in the same means as Glint.
Furthermore, she acts nothing like how the Elder Dragons do – as I’ve stated repeatedly dozens of times. The Pale Tree is the complete opposite of the Elder Dragons. She creates and preserves life, Elder Dragons corrupt and destroy it.
Furthermore, nothing says that dragon minions cannot be corrupted by another dragon.
There is but one piece of evidence: a binary code from the Infinite Coil Reactor, the skill challenge in zone green, that translates to “Pale Tree” (apparently – I don’t know how to translate this and the source is from the questionable Wooden Potatoes (despite his fans’ beliefs, he’s wrong on lore – a lot)), and the presence of Nightmare Court-made plant creatures in Experimental Green Lab in Crucible of Eternity. However, the Nightmare Court is in an alliance with the Inquest, and we don’t know why those things are there yet. It’s too early to claim it as fool proof – the Inquest may be trying to study the immunity, just as likely as the things are there to help handle the dragon minions, or being there to experiment due to being dragon minion related. But the utter lack of Nightmare Court sylvari leads me to believe the second possibility – or that their placement is purely a red herring (anet’s done it before).
An NPC mentions that the Sylvari are a new, unique race to the world of Tyria, and that the Elder Dragons only know how to corrupt ‘standard’ creatures. I think they are not completely immune to corruption, only it is not yet discovered how to do it. I’d imagine the Pale Tree is connected to every Sylvari, so corrupting it itself is the way to go to corrupt the Sylvari.
Speaking of the Pale Tree, my theory is that it is a “reincarnation machine”, and that the soul of a deceased is bound to a Sylvari body/vessel instead of returning to the Mists.
Well there’s a problem with your ‘standard’ creatures theory, and it is that every creature in Tyria is new from the reckoning of the Elder Dragons. When they went to sleep the only races around were the mursaat, Seer, dwarves, jotun, and forgotten. During their sleep every race that is now fighting them has appeared at some point in time, and right after awakening the dragons have found ways to corrupt them. I mean Kralkatorrik corrupted Charr almost instantly after awakening without a second thought.
What I meant by ‘standard’ creatures is soul bound in a mother’s womb, life born from child birth. Sylvaris awaken in the world with a fully formed adult body, along with memories and consciousness. Regarding Sylvari memories, I don’t know if it’s either the Pale Tree giving out random memories to Sylvari, or these memories were just partially retaken from their past lives, if my theory that Sylvaris are reincarnations hold true.
